I bought 10 lbs of copper about 25 years ago for scrap spot price. It’s good to see it go up and hit the five dollar mark. I always knew that someday copper would go up in price. I also knew it was going to be a slow process, I’ve added more weight to that stack since then to about maybe 100 lbs. I believe it never hurts to have some. just tuck it away in a corner of your garage somewhere where it’s out of sight and out of mind. it’s too heavy for anybody to steal anyway.

The U.S. mint should make 90% silver again, but change the face value. I.E. - the ASE should have a face value of $50.00. (yes I know it is already .999 fine) The fifty cent piece should be $20.00. The quarter should be $10.00 and the dime should be $5.00. This would alert the American public that silver is real money. Just an idea, no absolutes. Your mileage may vary. I also bought a few copper bars just for fun about 15 years ago.

I’ve been seeing flat bed tractor/trailer trucks coming thru my area heading north for the last 12 years carrying large plates of copper sheets. These sheets appear to be about 3x3 in size and the trucks always run in pairs. I see them every day at different times but always in pairs and always hauling copper sheets.
I hauled copper plates out of Arizona mines to Connecticut for years back in the 90s! Had to call in back in the day every 4 hours to update location! They were very specific on arrival time and if it wasn't for paper logs back in the day, you wouldn't of made it in time for their approval!
Platinum I have 2 ounces bought under 1000 for spot got a Platinum maple 1 ounce coin for 1200 and credit suisse bar for 1100 my goal was 5 ounces but man I figured it would stay here awhile it usally rises a bit over 1k then keeps falling down but either way I have some and even if it goes up and I can sell at a good profit it will go down...better to have some then non at all....also got 5 gram palladium bar when spot was 950 I believe it was paid about 200 for it ...if spot goes to 3k or 4k I'd be happy some extra food and gas money or some new tires for my truck ...I need all terrain tires these standard street tires got me ice skating on wet roads

The West is not going to find enough materials to go totally electric on vehicles and platinum and palladium will be used for combustion engine vehicles again. Not just that but both are insanely under priced lately. No crystal ball and no guarantees but logic dictates higher prices around the corner. Best to buy copper that has the purity and weight stamped on it in a standard weight. Copper rounds and bars value are mostly for collector value. Also good to use as decoy bullion.
😂Ever see a 100 lb splash Cu Shipwreck plate from a sunken Galleon? Cuba had large Covrr mines in the far eastern portion of the country. They use avoirdupois ounces & 16 equales a lb unlike the 12 troy ozs for a troy lb of pms. They are typically greenish like Cu cut silver. Usually they were mixed in with the ballast stones and silver chests in the bottom of the ship which would be the first level to get ripped off the ship at the first of the coral reefs. 2nd and 3rd level usually had the gold & canon and the deck & Captain's Castle often made it to shore.
And now all those gains were wiped out 30 minutes later😂 Can never go by the first hour of the market....it's when all the day traders buy and dump during the first hour

When I mention I bought copper at $1 an ounce I got harassed. But the truth is I was buying silver and to get free shipping I would add a roll of copper. So my 2,000 ounces of copper were mostly free. Why? Because copper was 35 dollars a pound if you bought it in a store and 16 dollars if you bought it in bullion, which was half price. Paper copper is just an illusion.

My 10 10lb ingots each one is selling at $130.00 from SD bullion to wit l only paid $50.00 each some 6 years ago l off flea bay and I have tripled my copper worth in short Sal according to the market price now I have broke even. To buy it now from SD bullion would cost me $1,300 plus tax so I am ahead of the game and it was a fun investment and in for the long haul. And I should buy more but I am going to hold for now and possibly trade it for silver down the road. 😂❤🫵🏻😎

Hey Sal, I like these comparisons. Thank you for posting. I have to say in light of yesterday’s tariffs being imposed on Chinese solar panels of %50 it may really pump the brakes on silver prices. Our aggressive push on green energy is now really in question as to what our governments full intentions are given the fact that most all of the worlds solar panels are manufactured in China. I realize the demand for solar panels is not an exclusively USA phenomenon. However in time I do expect these actions to impact silver and copper. I’ll try to leave politics out of this but these latest actions are a real head scratcher from this administration.
