3 mile loop behind Jefferson memorial
DESCRIPTION
Ride starts at 12:00pm sharp. The first lap is slow to allow riders to group together. Once the first lap is completed, the ride is "full-gas" (race pace) until 1:00pm when people return to their jobs. Great way to break up your work day and have fun riding with groups as high as 50 riders. Monday & Fridays are recovery, Tuesday through Thursday are fast.

Wow, the favorite place right in downtown DC to challenge what you've got. We'd go there year round since the '80s. It's about 3 miles, right? The northbound leg frequently has a nice tailwind off the river and reaches 30 mph "no problem" if pumped up from the southbound leg. Highly recommended for some high speed thrills! Thanks for posting!

What sustained speed do professionals typically ride on flat rides?
I think in a large peloton they sustain speeds from 25-40+MPH depending on how hard they are pushing.
I’m 64 years old and I can do that fast by myself on long rides!
