I’ve heard so much about this guy being brilliant, but when I listened to this I was so underwhelmed. It was like a slightly smarter version of a west wing episode; dripping with unfounded sincerity.
Then I saw that it was from 2018. I guess someone can be excused for being that big of a believer in the enlightenment/ liberalism back then.

Always remain calm and stoic. Anxious people make anxious decisions.

Taylor is always brilliant and practical. Great talk and great answers. I don't understand why his woman doesn't do something about his eyebrows though.

I like the eyebrows. They connote wisdom and experience.

For Taylor Citizen's United is bad jurisprudence but not Rowe vs. Wade. And he's a Catholic. The ends always justifies the means for leftists.

The end of creating a just, equitable society? How horrifying!

Do what you can, with what you've got, where you are.

Men who are weak and afraid always look for a strongman to follow. Always be strong and courageous, and never blindly follow any leader -- for your FIRST LEADER to whom you must be loyal is always YOURSELF !

Charles Taylor is such a lefty, he gives himself away through little details in his speeches.

It must be so relaxing to just slap labels you barely understand on anyone you disagree with instead of actually engaging with the content of their ideas. Keeps things and simple, cuts back on all that troublesome thinking.

Great representation of the present times and where the international arena and the role of the state in human organisation is headed.
