Betty's Versatile Catalina Dressing

Betty demonstrates how to make Catalina Dressing. This is a versatile dressing and can be used as a salad dressing or drizzled over tomatoes or bean salad. It can also be used as a marinade for beef, pork, poultry, or fish and makes a lovely dipping sauce for French fries, fried onions, and other deep-fried foods.
Versatile Catalina Dressing
¼ cup sugar
½ cup ketchup
½ cup vinegar
½ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup finely-chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dry mustard
½ teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon oregano
Combine all ingredients in a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Shake vigorously until well blended. Chill. Serve on salad greens, or use as a marinade or dipping sauce. The flavor is delicious!
