I'm 20 and I've been searching for this song for years. This song has some magic in it I can't understand why I'm so hooked.

I ended up finding Rodel Naval because of this song. I was looking for Mariya Takeuchi’s ‘Single Again’ and was struck across this wonderful singer’s cover of that song. After doing research on this artist, I realize that he really does have great talent and am now a huge fan of him and his music. May he Rest In Peace and I thank him for the wonderful music he has released.

Yup your right it's from M.Takeuchi's fame "Plastic Love" famous singer/composer in Japan. From what I read from some close relatives of hers, this song was written when Rodel was still in Japan more than a month after the death of her mother. Coincidentally he likes the melody of M.Takeuchi's SINGLE AGAIN and writes his own take lyrics version on the sad passing of his mother. The songs bit trivial and could pertain like when you missed someone whose far away and out of reach, but Rodel take of this song is more of his mother's passing away feeling of sadness, despair and longing to be closed with her - that's the real score and meaning of it. But in a way could be interpreted like missing someone who went away and missing him/her so badly.

Being away as an OFW during the years when Rodel became popular, I had really not known him. That was also the case when he popularized this song - I was still working in the Middle East. But the moment I came to know that he composed and sang this song (came across this only after his death), I instantly became a fan. I am convinced that he was a gifted singer! His death from a then terrible disease (this has more acceptance now) all the more makes his personal and professional life interesting. This song I am convinced defines Rodel Naval! His name will be revered through all the years to come!
That’s for sure, even when we are all gone and the next generations will enjoy his songs as much as we are enjoying it now. He has a classic voice just perfect for his classic songs! Sayang na sayang talaga… he was born too early if only he was born even just a decade later then with 21st century technology in medicine, he should still be with us today. Now I understand why many celebrities are so passionate in sharing their financial support to find the cure for aids!
