So did you notice any ticking from the engine before or after you installed the OBD device? If so, did the device stop the ticking?
@@cllistings5914 I installed this before I had any issues. Engine wasn't ticking at all, and still isn't. Smooth as butter.
Regardless of afm and such i can't see paying 70k u.s. dollars for something that is guaranteed to go down in value. Crazy
Shit mine didn’t go down when I came off the lot I even got the mf refinanced
I don't view vehicles as financial investments. It's a nice tool to help get me to my favorite spots. While towing my toys and camper around.
@@843._Robbiethat’s literally impossible. Every day your vehicle increases in age, mileage, and wear and tear. Sounds like the salesman got into your brain and convinced you that cars increase in value. You must be very young lol
I seen some reviews on some of the AFM disablers that they had a transmissions issues. What are your thoughts on that please? I need to send me a link for a 2014 Silverado mines a 2015 with that be the same
Is your Range AFM delete module the one that plugs into the obd 2 port inside ?
They make a module that does tire size adjustment and other parameters, it plugs in under the hood in line with the ECM next to the air box.
Put the truck in manual 5 and you can disable for free. Its in the owners manual
That works. But on the highway can get a little better fuel economy in 6th gear .
True but that is an absolute pain to do each and every time you want/need to drive. That alone made me buy one of these Range's. Don't get me wrong, I'm cheap, LOL, but this is heaven! Think about it...good luck to you...
I have a 2018 with 5.3 and an 8l90…. Shifts like crap with Range installed. 1-2 and 2-1 feels like I got rear ended….. Went with a custom tune instead, well worth the extra few hundred bucks. Better power, fuel economy, no V4 mode no shifting issues.
I've heard those 8 speeds are weird like that. At least you sorted it out.
Mines a 6 speed.
They make one that’s cheaper and does exactly what the rage does, it’s called boost. These both are the only two I’ve seen that are 100% US made and specifically made to not draw enough to kill a battery. Use a cheap China one then you are only adding to your issues.
Unless my math is jacked up you are getting approx 28 mpg and you 650km is about 20 mpg in the u.s. pretty good i think
Can you put a link or send me a link to the AFM disabler you were using

Would it hurt if I continue to pump e85
If you have a flexfuel truck meant for e85 you'll be fine. All this does is keep it in v8 mode all the time. This won't change anything to do with e85.
I wish I had e85 where I live lol.
I appreciate u Conner man, one more what oil do u recommend on the 5.3
@joshserna9398 glad to help man. I run royal purple 5w30 in mine at the moment but after I lift it and put 35s on it I'll be running shell rotella 0w40.
It’s the area you live in shit flies everywhere be safe out there. Thanks for the video. I was thinking about ordering one. Can you show where you got your module
I'm not an auto technician or anything so think of this as nothing other then random BS from an other know it all on the internet if you want, but a friend of mine works for a giant service center tells me the most important thing with these trucks is religiously change the oil at changes at 3K miles with high quality synthetic oil and filters, and the transmissions need to be flushes and re lubed on schedule with no exceptions and they do just fine. Fuck around? You might have a bad time. So I'm told. Free advice and maybe not even worth that.
Your friend is right. I service the transmission once every 30k miles and change the oil with top quality synthetic. 👌
@@Connor4x4 If You don't mind me asking, I went to the website and they have serval different colors of that devise for my model truck. What is the differences between the colors? Sorry to bother You. I couldn't tell.
If I remember correctly they all do the same thing just have different colour options.
I plugged one of these into my 2012 and it's never been better. Drives so nice!
2011 5.3 Silverado...difference...night and day! Wow!
