Steve. I'm thinking about getting the TS515. I am a complete novice. Never sculled before. I would be doing this out on a lake where there are motorboats. I expect water to get inside my boat from their wakes. Please show a video and also explain how I would drain the water from the TS515. I expect it would be extremely difficult with the two safety floats attached.

oahu kane That is a good idea to show how water would get out. I will see if I can make a video about that. But basically it is the same as with all racing boats. In the rowing action your body moves forwards and backwards and this causes an oscillation in boat speed which makes any water in the cockpit slosh forwards and backwards also. And this action is what empties water from the boat. It won't all go out but much of it will. I cannot see why you think it would be difficult with the floats attached.

What is the weight capacity of this boat? Website doesn’t say I am 300 lbs any ideas on a good beginning boat for me?

You are over the weight carrying capacity of the TS515 Training Scull, which is realistically 110kg. A much more suitable boat for you is the Nordic Explorer ahoy-boats.biz/nordic/ which can carry 250kg (550 lbs). Sorry for delay in reply. I don't usually communicate by social media but by email.
