I drove on the Polokongkla Pass in 2018, and I felt that among all the passes I did, it was the most dangerous and toughest. At couple of places there were steep slopes with turns, and combine that with big craters and big boulders on the road, one has to take split second decision what to do. Also it was a deserted route, so getting help in case of emergency is also difficult. It seems nothing has changed in 5 years. In a way good, atleast some places have been left untouched. Hi varghis ...we have plan this week to jammu-srinagar-leh and back....starting from Hyderabad on 10th may...will zojila pass road open for private vehicles....pls advice, whether we postpone our journey for later days...as I wud be travelling with wife and 2 kids...tia
Hi, may I ask is the Leh-Manali highway open today? I’m planning to go to the Tso Kar and pass the tanglang la. Is it possible to go to tso kar ? Or is it possible to go up to tanglang la? Where does the road closure start from if it’s closed for the leh Manali highway at which point is the starting point of closure? Thank you

It will probably not open until May end. The only other option is to come back via Srinagar road after it reopens

Bhai the pass was declared closed today after an avalanche. Right now there is no telling by when will it be reopened

Sorry for the late reply. As far as I know, Tanglang La was closed. Were you able to reach Tso Kar?
I hope to do this early September, it is about 75Km, how long did it take you yo drive this distance?
