We are proud to share this Song Around The World that features children performing alongside PFC musicians on the Bobby McFerrin classic, "Don't Worry Be Happy." Perfect message and a great song.
This video is part of our partnership with Okaidi, a children's clothing line based in France. We are very excited to announce that the Playing For Change Foundation is working with Okaidi to launch a music program across 10 primary schools in the Mirpur District of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Okaidi Foundation recently created these schools and is now partnering with the PFC Foundation to introduce music as part of their curriculum. Through this new initiative, over 500 underprivileged children between the ages of 6 and 12 will receive free music education as part of their weekly activities at school. Music is the Key!

Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

My grandfather used to listen to this song many times a day, he loved it. He passed away a year ago and i just remembered this song. I put it and i cryed, i miss him. Just wanted to let you know how much this video changed my life. Thanks.

I used to own a comic book store on Haight St near Masonic in San Francisco called Best Comics. The four corners of the inter-section was (still is?) a main transfer hub of seven different bus lines in The City. Bobby McFarrin used to bring his kids in to my store back in those days before he won his Grammy for Best Song (IIRC). He, his wife & kids lived around the corner back up the hill from Haight. The grade school for our area was on the same block as my store.
At the time of this seminal song's release all of the things he sings about were happening to them all at the same time. Life was tough for many in the area back when San Francisco had sections with very affordable housing. Back when I still recognized the area having first got out to The City in 1972.
Just trying to say some of us were fortunate to absorb aspects of his song as he wrote it. As he lived it. Many of us were living the same daily struggle. Bobby showed many of us back then you take those lemons life handed you, add sugar, make wonderful lemonade. We in the neighborhood were so happy for the McFerrins then as life improved dramatically!
And I still enjoy this song very much. Brings back that moment in time when one stares into the abyss. And one says to oneself I shall not go quietly into the night! ......
Anyone reading this. I send you hugs no matter where you are and what you are going through right now. We are all one big family. Love and peace ☮️ ❤️

I first heard this song in 1989 i was in my 12thStd. and during that time many great songs were released like "sweet child of mine" -GnR,billi joel .."We didnt start the fire" ....,"tracy chapman Fast car" etc etc, but this song stand out in many ways because of its simple lyrics and connection with the listener,after 31 years i am still listening ,what a great song.
