Ah Tim, this is currently one of my favourite groups. The fusion of original folk culture music and instruments with modern music is right in my wheelhouse house. Azyan, the female singer, has one of the most beautiful and haunting voices. There’s a very interesting interview with her here on YT. I have a number of groups, current and past I can recommend.
Thank you for the reaction, a very beautiful and sad song , it's not about politics , but about ecology , indigenous people live in Chukotka - the Chukchi - their fishery is reindeer herding and whaling , they are the only ones in the world allowed to hunt whales in the Bering Strait , they simply will not survive without whale oil , the Chukchi live in the plague , until it is impossible to reach them, only by helicopter, this is the farthest North of Russia
