    Glad that I found this tutorial can it be done in after effects?

      Yes! You could!
      I just don’t not use AE anymore or
      any other Adobe products.

    i am more interested in the compositing side, the blending of the tattoo. i wish i can get a more detailed tut. but all the same i learnt one or two steps.

      In the future (starting with the next tutorial) I will be doing non scripted(non pre-written) longer an in depth tutorials/demos of my shots but only for my Patreon gold supporters.
      Cheers!

    7:11 I request you make a separate video about utilizing the alembic export data in Nuke. The other video you linked to does not cover projection in enough detail.
    This tutorial is incomplete, as it leaves one only with a tracked mesh, and with no further information on how to actually use it in Nuke

    • @LoveVFX
      @LoveVFX  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not doubt your sincerity.
      I just do not take any (requests) from my audience.
      I am however happy to give some advice if I am being asked nicely.
      The content I am producing is not meant for everyone and is not supposed to take you from A to Z.
      Doing step by step tutorials is not what I want to do.

    Can you explain a little bit more about that you talking on 7:50 please? So, did you used that Aztec image just as a mask for grade for colouring the skin, or you actually merged it on top? I see you have 2 Grade nodes, but can't get what each one is doing, can't see the script well. Trying to recreate same effect and your tutorial seems to have the best results on whole TH-cam

      Hi Elizabeth,
      I added the tattoo to the back of my hand with a frequency separation workflow and two color corrections.
      I also added a link to a tutorial that covers this frequency separation workflow. You can find the link in the description of this video.
      It is very important to mask the color correction of with a luma mask if there are highlights going through your shot like in the case of this tutorial.
      You can see an overview of that part of the script at 7:34.
      Cheers!

    can you plzz explain lil bit advance how to rotate the tattoo and masking the index finger?

    • @LoveVFX
      @LoveVFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t do step by step tutorials.
      If you watch closely you can see exactly how I warped the tattoo with the spline warp node.
      Cheers!

    Thanks for your tutorial so helpful. I am trying to create something similar just for testing Mocha but the the track doesn't work really well when I put the finger over the skin. What can I do? Cheers

      Mask the occluding finger and track the clearly visible areas.

    how to install mocha pro in nuke? i have downloaded it....i just dont know how to install

    • @LoveVFX
      @LoveVFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You (buy) a Mocha Pro license (ofx/is cheaper and works inside Nuke), download the (legal) software, and launch the installer.

    Isn't this pretty easily doable builtin (using Smart Vectors)?

    • @LoveVFX
      @LoveVFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If there would not be an occlusion (finger) then yes.
      I have tried to comp this shot with the Smart Vector workflow. I could not get a descent track. The strength of the Power Mesh feature also lies in the way it can handle tracking through occlusions (if you mask them out of course!)

    • @vidhun
      @vidhun 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have yet to find one shot where I was able to do a complete track using one smart vector node only LOL.. but you are right its doable!!

    • @LoveVFX
      @LoveVFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The awesome thing about Mocha Pro’s Power Mesh feature is that you can track such a shot in one go,
      without having the need to use multiple reference frames that you need to blend into each other.

  • @amjadz7618

    You did not show the most important thing, how you manage to edit it when your hand rotate..

    • @LoveVFX
      @LoveVFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Amjad z what you say is not true.
      At 7:25 minutes of the video I talk about that topic.
      This is “not” a step by step tutorial.
      If you want to learn how to use the spline warp node like I did in this project you can find tutorials about it online.
      Cheers!

    Is this possible on ae?

    • @LoveVFX
      @LoveVFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the same tracking result should be achievable with MochaPro for ae.
      I personally stopped using ae for any high end compositing work many years ago.
      But the most important factor is the artists and not the tool he or she is using. That is my point of view.
      There is a non-commercial and Indie version of Nuke if you want to try it out. ;-)
