- Game Boy Advance tends to be considered a "portable SNES" because of its performance, but it's actually a game console with surprisingly many arcade game ports. Beyond the era where you can enjoy arcade games at home, in the 2000s, you can carry arcade games anytime, anywhere.
Previously, portable game consoles were often impossible to port arcade games perfectly because of their low performance, but with GBA, it became possible to make them close to perfection.
Of course, the performance was insufficient compared to the later game consoles, but it was innovative at the time. Let me now introduce all the GBA arcade ports from those days.

To clarify, Metal Slug Advance is not a port of Neo Geo's Metal Slug (or X, referring to the footage you used for comparison), rather it is a sequel that was exclusive to the console, with its own story and characters.

It's a homebrew emulator called Remudvance, not an official port. You'd better google it to find it.

It is called the Super Real Mahjong series, a mahjong game released only in Japan. The arcade version was ported to Nintendo Switch, but it will only be available in Japan eShop.

It's homebrew emulator and it's not really a released game.
Sega really dropped the ball, here. Their 3d looks worse than EA's or the Blue Roses engine - only Super Monkey Ball is pulling this off. And that's a game that needs more precise control than a d-pad can offer in the harder difficulties.
I don't blame you for not showing Golden Axe.
But this was the company that had the best sprite scaling arcade games of all time, finally given a platform that can handle high speed sprite scaling. And instead, they let THQ ruin Afterburner for them. Seriously, Sega, what were you doing? Did you really think Space Channel 5 needed ported? How do you defend Altered Beast and Shinobi? If it wasn't for Dimp's Sonic Advance series, some good Shining games, and oddball classics like Pinball of the Dead or the ChuChu Rocket port, they'd mostly be remembered like Midway's contributions....(Classics like MK Advance, Ready to Rumble, and the worst Cruisin' game.)
