Everyone is saying how awkward this was but I think the interviewers did a pretty good job. Obviously English isn't their first language and it is clear they were not huge directioners but they did some research (which was a lot better than other interviewers they have met in the past). Yeah they seemed nervous but they were talking to the biggest boyband in the world- its bound to be nerve wracking. They were trying to build a comfortable environment and have a little fun and I just dont think its fair to them to say they were awkward because I think they did a great job. I know my opinion wont change how you see it, but even if you still think this was extremely awkward and uncomfortable, just remember it could have been a whole lot worse- they didn't bring up Larry Stylinson.
I think it was ok. What was awkward, is that they talked about the song Diana and 1D didn't want to talk about it. Zayn looked down. He was uncomfortable.
Louis is just so great in interviews, I have nothing to say =) And the interviewers seemed really cool and relatable since they were in a band as well!! Loved it.

They all have a mouth and are more than capable of speaking if they want to. Without Liam and Louis, some of the interviews would be played out in silence. Why do people have to hate or slag off members of the band for such daft reasons?
Liam is so adorable. I totally relate with Liam in movies and i have cried also during Marley and Me. I don't watch it anymore cause of the sad part that made me cry. Liam is my second favourite but Harry is defiantly my first favorite
I don't get it you guys say "Liam be quiet for a few questions, let the others speak" but as soon as the next interview rolls around and he's quiet like you wished it turns into "whats wrong with Liam? He's not being his usual self" The guys who wanted to talk, talked.
Funny how you say Harry has to talk when most of the interviews they do are Harry-centric or he is the one answearing all the time?! Don't get me wrong i love Harry but it's true! Louis and Liam weren't monopolizing anything! Btw couldn't it be that your precious Harry wasn't in the mood for talking so they took over?! And it's no surprise Zayn doesn't talk so stop and enjoy what you have! If you can't stand Liam and Louis, that's your problem 'cause i love them and this interview is awesome!
they are a fucking band, they shouldn't have to bloody split. zayn doesn't speak even when they split them, and harry was just off that day. it happens you know, you forget he's a normal person who at times doesn't feel it and stay silent.
I agree!!! Harry do talk a lot in Interviews....maybe he was just feeling ill or were tired.. or maybe he just didn't have that much to say in this interview... Zayn never really talk that much in interviews, but that's just the way he is :)
Too much of anything can literallly kills you. Same case with One Direction. .May be Louis/Liam hav some energy and they are trying to keep up in interview but look at Harry -He is tired .Zayn alwayz the person who prefer to keep quiet untill he asked to say something. They are exhausted. I hope they should get their days off and we should wish them Happy Holidays so that they can come back with bang.
are you fucking kidding me? there is people that genuinely think it's better split the band to have zayn speaking or whoever. If they want to talk, they can do it, if they don't do it, it's because they don't know what to say or they just don't want. Harry is off? ok. Zayn is quiet like always? ok. I don't see why you should force them to speak, they're not puppets.
it doesn't really matter if they split up in different groups or not... Zayn doesn't really speak that much in interviews anyway..it's just the way he is!! :) But it's not a One Direction interview if they are split up in small groups...They should always be interviewed all together!!! :)
To be honest I got a a bit sad when they said Diana doesn't have the meaning we thought it did, that it was just a nice song. I don't know maybe because whenever I listened to it I felt really happy because I thought they realized what some of their fans were going through so they wrote a song about it with kind of hidden messages. I don't know I'm really bad at explaining things, but the song still has a lot of meaning to me.
You see, in my opinion that's the point. I think it is great if everybody can interpret the song lyrics themselves. I think song lyrics are good when everyone finds a meaning that's important for them=).
I did too! I'd like them to write meaningful songs and not just another "happy song", which in general is fine of course, but it would be great to have some that aren't just about the usual girl stuff. There are millions of topics and they are in the perfect position to address them. Well, there's hope for the next album :)
