Always great to see people pick up a guitar! Been playing for 23 years. I currently have a Fender Mustang, I really love it. You sound like you're a quick learner! Hope you keep at it and that you enjoy your Strat!!
Honestly I would start on a acoustic it doesn’t have to be expensive like a second hand one or charity shop one and practice on that first so it would build your calluses easier and help your fingers gain more strength when doing cords to then easily progress to harder positions and cord changes!💗
Actually you are better off learning on which ever type of guitar you plan on playing! It’s factually incorrect to say playing an acoustic guitar is easier than playing an electric guitar anyway.
Yesss Marin Music Centre is great! Definitely use his tutorials. Your progress is crazy quick! Really excited to see where you go from here. Lovely choice of guitar too :)
As some one that's been playing guitar for 25 year ( wow time flies ) makes me think back when i first started . It was so much fun learning to play and the joy of still learning to ways to make music. Seeing new guitarist starting out is awesome to see. Congrats and welcome to the club! Subbed.
so ahppy to see people still picking up this instrument! Definitely get some lessons especially private ones. When starting out, it will deffo help you lean the basics.
It gets easier once you develop calluses on your fingertips. I'd recommend practicing with a metronome to help you stay on the beat and develop your sense of timing.
Started playing about 15 ish years ago and have been playing on and off for years since (life has a way of getting in the way lol). Bought myself a new guitar this week (giving my old one a much deserved break lol) and I can confirm the new instrument excitement never fully goes away. Glad to see you’re enjoying the new guitar! My biggest piece of advice for beginners is something that my first guitar teacher said to me years ago: be lazy. Aka, don’t make things harder than they need to be. For example, say you’re playing a sequence of notes which occur on the same string, you can just leave your fingers where they are rather than moving them around constantly. That’s just one example but it applies to many other situations too. Just always look for ways to be lazy and it’ll make playing easier for you.
Finally, somebody who makes one of these videos and did research before buying the guitar! I've seen a lot of people buying a guitar off of Amazon. Those are no good! Fender is a great starter guitar, I wish you much luck
Congrats on your first guitar, you're taking to it very quickly! I've been playing for 15 years & it's awesome to see more of us learning electric guitar specifically! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Note: as a guitarist if you want to memorize all strings there is a saying, “eddie ate dynamite good bye eddie” me and my friend think its a good way to know strings 😊 - personally i spend like 3-5 minutes stretching my fingers when transitioning
! I've been learning the ukulele first as I want to try it before getting an electric guitar! I'll be buying my first electric guitar next week ! Wish me all the luck 😂
Awesome, enjoy and keep playing! Definitely get a capo and use trial and error to find which pick sizes you like. I prefer a thicker size and love the Tortex 0.88mm. Good luck :)
