I'm really disappointed that with both the Wavestate SE and the Opsix SE they didn't use more of the real estate on the chassis to remove some of the use of the Shift key for things like V.Patch etc. Also the pricing is insane. I presume that the Opsix SE will be priced at the same point as the Wavestate. That's $3k for a 61 key keybed with Aftertouch, a metal chassis, some extra voices and a carry case versus $800 for the 37 key Opsix which has the exactly the same engine. Seems a bit over the top to me. I really wanted a 61 key Opsix but not at that price. I'll keep triggering it from Summit.
My problem is more expensive! I love the colors of the original Opsix, but I didn't like the regular SE colors. So, if I ever decide to buy one it would be the Platinum limited edition. On a side note, I have two Opsix plus the desktop conversion mod which makes it even harder to get the SE 😢
The crazy thing about both the Opsix SE & the Wavestate SE is that they are both included in Korg own Nautilus set of boards 9 engines in total, you can buy the Nautilus in the the UK for as little as £1350! A bargain if you ask me😊
Needs a bigger screen. The keyboard case is not needed. If they are going to release the modwave se why did they not incorporate the wavestate and opsix in the same keyboard? As it stands price in uk should nit be more then £1500
Korg SE range just got better, for Korg who are milking every little cent from a customer base that refuses to pay 4 times the amount for the same exacting UIs on both the OP6 and WS, just in a metal case and 61 keys. Well done Korg, you're the new tRoland.
I will not pay this price for a 61 notes and I pre ordered a wave state mkii to replace the first version which I cannot update, due to a malfunction of the product
This synt would be much better if they spread controls and make it thinner - at least it would then feel like some effort was put in to designing it. The way they did it here is so generic anyone can make synth like this DIY style.
What a clownish, lazy design. "THE"...."ULTIMATE"....stop with the clickbait nonsense. And they force a case on everyone, when 99.9% will never, ever use it. Environmental nightmare.
For 2 grands one can buy vintage DX7, pay for fixing it and just enjoy. This one looks ugly and lazy. It's the same hardware! Look, even all the parts in the middle, and not spreaded out on the surface - coz it's just a regular opsix inside. It's just an opsix with good midi keyboard. I mean i love Korg and Opsix is one of my fav sytnhs of all time but this on is a miss.
You always have opsix native as an option of pricing. This one is for those who love the beauty of the look and keys, they’ll pay for for those features. It sounds/looks great onstage.
DX7 isn't exactly capable of most of the things Opsix can do. It looks like luxury product because it is. Putting original motheboard does feel pretty cheap though.
We would love to hear from you in the comments as to what you think of the new Korg opsix se models. 🎹

Korg will never satisfy everyone. Some people want a desktop version. Some want more knobs..
Same engine but max 32 polyphony. This one has 80 stereo voices of polyphony. For my use a world of difference.

Does the SE have TRS outputs?... still much more $ in comparisson with the 37
@@asmr6773 As far as I know, no balanced output. None of them have :(
Looks prettier in silver and with more light blue lights. ❤️
does it offer enough if you have the original? surely just using a midi keyboard with aftertouch would offer enough of an upgrade?
I would love to see the modwave xl - only they fill the panel with two complete control sections per layer, a guy can dream!
Now that would be awesome!
ROCKiN🤗😊💞😍🎹👌
80 voice poly and zero multitimbral use is just stupidly short sighted too say the least.

Ohhhh nice
how to connect to computer windows?
I like this. I hope KORG and Rolandic get back to making more stuff for pros and fewer toys.

The Opsix seemed a discontinued product until some months ago. Now this luxury poche version makes my original version even more valuable to me.
Larger key beds are better for playing so your ideas don’t get cut off or being relegated to being patched.

Headphones or good Monitors plus VOLCA FM = opsix back Store

I can see the headlines: 'Korg goes bankrupt due to TH-cam comment'
no use of the extra space, just better keyboard. who needs this shit for 5 times the price Korg?
Cue multiple nitwits complaining about the price....
1) it's a superior product
2) it will come down in price
3) it HAS come down in price!
They are fucking out of their minds with the price lmao

Meh, lazy design choices here. Disappointing for such a large company.
Sweet fm…stop it. Give it to me
With such a powerful sound design and experimental laboratory, why feature analog synth imitations and noisy organs! Don’t get it.
you're a noisy organ
What a clownish, lazy design.
"THE"...."ULTIMATE"....stop with the clickbait nonsense.

Better would have been a desktop module.
Now that is a good idea

@@e8root true... i was expecting some space used in the new models, some new controls\faders would be awesome
This guy was obviously paid off, most people agree the opsix SE is way over priced, offering nothing new except a bigger keyboard.
Edit:
I'm an idiot. Turns out it does offer a lot.
