I've read a lot of self help books, David Goggins' Can't Hurt Me will be the last book I buy on that subject. The book is very raw and straight to the point, Goggins is brutally honest on every page and I could hear his raspy voice narrating, never the less I will enjoy reading this again
8:50 That is key to growth that not a lot of people understand. Resetting the expectations. This is what David means by "no finish line". There is no benchmark for you to get comfortable and adjust because it keeps getting reset. You push even harder, run further by the 10% rule, master more of your brain. I havent read his book yet but its coming in the mail soon!
Today it seems like more and more people have the need to continue improving. I am sure some people have always felt that way, its just today it feels more wide spread, almost like a wide spread hunger
Well in the past people were just focusing on survival, and that was enough to keep people busy. Nowadays people are separated into those that want to grow and improve and those who want the path of least resistance. Our society allows us to either try and become the best versions of ourself or live the easiest lives.
It’s a consequence of our comfort focused society. People are realizing comfort makes you feel like shit long term. And going into your discomfort is invigorating.
I'm sure he does, and he doesn't even know it, he said "I also focus in the feeling of accomplishment" that feeling then moves him into taking action and making it into reality, making the impossible, possible.
Honestly I've never heard so many people complain about the f-bombs. I'll admit I use them myself in certain situations. My mother is definitely not happy with that language lol. But I don't think people understand the reason why we say those words. I'm a student trying to get into a nursing program. I've been getting after it for years. I'm in a very precarious position right now where if I don't do well on this next exam on January 19th I'm basically fucked. If I would have just told someone that "man that test was hard" or "man that run sucked" it doesn't exactly get the point across how difficult that test was or how difficult that run was. But if I drop a expletive such as the f-bomb it really gets the point across that that test or that run was no fucking joke. I guess to me it's just a word and it's not meant to offend anybody. Just an adjective that I use to emphasize a particular sentence or statement. I'm not perfect but if that's the worst I do then I'm fine with that. Sometimes I think people are too sensitive but each their own just don't judge others.
Don't get me wrong, in a given situation Ilike a good jucy expletive too, but the f-bombing here bothered me. Not for use of the word but because used at such high frequency, it interrupted what he was saying and made it really hard to put together what he was trying to express. At some point it reminded me of the Minions singing the banana song and one blowing a party horn randomly. So perhaps not the word itself but the quantity of use is the problem here?
@@STKL-bk8wq a good juicy expletive? I like that lol. Funny stuff. I hear you though. I guess I just don't pick up on them as much as other people. Obviously I don't use expletives in my normal everyday conversation around just anyone. It's all about timing lol
I agree that this man is amazing in so many ways! I have total respect for him. But he could shine a bit brighter without so many F bombs. Love to him and Rich! Xo. Looking forward to reading his book!
It's how raw he is to do the things he did. Just pure raw energy. You're missing what he said he had to do in such a short amount of time. Where and how he put himself in those positions and what it took. The back of the line is over there dude.

Crone Woman Walking its sad that Goggins did not read the audiobook.
@@idbountyhunter I know. He said he didn't want people getting distracted. I disagree but I do love the format!🙌
are you sure? the very last book? could I interest you in a little dr. phil, perhaps?
i just ordered it.
I love this guy. He should be doing seminars in all the ghettos, poor areas and prisons across the country.
Watching this before my first marathon tomorrow 😂💪
Matthew Gage how’d it go!!!!

@@kurtisSimms I surprisingly liked it. I've signed up for another marathon already 😂

Love him he makes you not feel sorry for yourself... he make you realize to face yourself...

I totally agree with you on that one my friend
Determination/Drive/Discipline to succeed! Don't be your past be your future!
The Fear of Change outweighed the pain of their daily existence...Damn
Thank you for pulling out this clip! Saw the original interview and I don’t remember this part standing out as much! I’m deeply appreciative!
Nice to see him on camera talking rather than listen to a podcast. I always imagine the podcast is with superman with the shit he's been through.
F bombs or not! I'm still gonna listen to his fucking interviews and read his fucking book.

Love David Goggins! No bullshit, no messing!
I love this man
just want to put these obsticals to REST is such a good feeling!
Thank you, Goggins .
Hard core like it rich good start to the new year keep them coming
Goggins is very Stoic in his mindset. Premeditation of adversity and other of his exercises are similar to some of the things Marcus Aurelius did.
Awesome sir 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
So inspiring 💪🏻🙏🏻
For a guy that does not believe in the law of attraction...he sure practice it better than most.
I'm sure he does, and he doesn't even know it, he said "I also focus in the feeling of accomplishment" that feeling then moves him into taking action and making it into reality, making the impossible, possible.
LMFAOoooooo... "No, this your new norm M*****f*****!!!"
It's exactly what I needed... THANK GOGGINS.. KEEP GIFTING US 🎁🎁🎁.
The man, his strength and discipline, as well as his message, is amazing. The language, so sad.
I see myself at the finish line of a marathon this spring/summer
Reyes Revenge I see you running by my house.. with your first ultramarathon of 200 miles.
Love your podcast. You should try to get Kimmy Werner on the podcast.

Joann Dehnert I love him because he’s so REAL by the use of the F bombs. It’s real, he’s real. No fake stuff going on here
Debra Marek ya. You’re right
Lol snowflake
Navy Seal
Joann Dehnert it’s to easy to tell when people aren’t British 😂. Didn’t even notice the swearing
Profanity is for the man who doesn't have the words to say what's on his mind.
@@composmentis8138 never said he wasn't real. Simply that he speaks crudely instead of with accuracy and detail.
Goggins is the Miles Davis of Persistence and Obsession.
Profanity is not always necessary but when you are using by speaking it from the heart it sounds good!!!
@@erikaespy812 agreed
@TheTerek23 I'll say whatever I want
Why does he curse so much
I want to listed to this podcast but I can't stand all the swearing
Wish I could’ve seen the whole video but didn’t care for the swearing from the beginning.
M Maryboy Don’t mistake the finger for the moon.
I understand and believe in the attitude and toughness, but with so many F bombs it's difficult to follow him.
take the meat and throw away the bones.....
He was in the military and comes from a very rough upbringing.

There's many you can follow who don't use the F word.
Stop with the F-- word. It diminishes you and what you’re saying.
fudge
There's ZERO diminishment -- he self-published and #1 on Amazon books.
It does not bother me at all, I am listening to the passion behind the words...that's all it is listen to the passion, the determination, the drive
NO,i love it
lol then don't listen
