I am so happy that slowly buying local is normalized in the Philippines. Grew up in Antique but have not returned to the province... after 50 years na pala :) The place is a paradise for me but then my dad have to move to the highly urbanized city of Iligan in Mindanao where I am now. Hi, Alex. Ma’am Loren mentioned that Phils. used to plant cotton and she’s right. My Papa was the division supervisor of the Philippine Cotton Corp. in Mindanao and I personally visited the fields when I was young. My Papa said that Phils. Is very capable of producing our own cotton but when former Pres. Aquino came in after Martial Law, she closed all the offices and factory of Phil. Cotton Corp. along with other govt. agencies ni Marcos that’s why We are now importing cottons na lang, even cheaper but low quality ☹️ pure cotton is masarap sa balat lalo na kung my skin problems ka. Sayang lang talaga. I’m happy to know Ma’am Loren’s projects and other laws she has authored.
