These guys are amazing and even more so when one considers that guitar was not their primary instrument. Dan was a mandolin master and didn’t really play guitar until he joined Union Station, and Ron grew up playing banjo. Maybe there is hope for us all if we practice laboriously.
I may say this more than once on future videos, but Dan, you da man.Rob, I found you on Pandora singing "He's holding on to me" I'm already becoming a fan. I loved the song, didn't know you were also a guitar stud. Thanks!
I have been playing guitar for a long time and the hardest technique by far for me is holding on to that damn pick! I have tried textured picks and even created my own with tiny rough edged punctures. Any suggestions to improve my pick traction?

Have you tried drilling holes in your pick? Also, try out a Bluechip and see if it helps with the problem. Bluechips are kind of sticky
If you have FB, I’d really recommend joining the “Bluegrass Guitar” group. Lots of great pickers, including Ron Block, are members over there
@@danielmiller372 Thanks I will try sticky picks.
