A friend of mine ask me if I thought he was gay. I told him "It doesn't matter." I currently have another friend who may be gay but he works in an environment that is filled with toxic masculinity. He knows my place is a safe place and he could talk to me whenever he has anything struggling in his mind. He knows me well enough that I'm trustworthy, honest, and loyal and that nothing he does or says will ever make me part from him.
Nice job, as usual. Super supportive people. Wondering if that was everyone you asked these questions of, or if there were some others with less great reactions. Few places in the US you could randomly go up to a bunch of people and the reactions would all be really positive, even if they were all tourists.
They may be Dutch but most of them over there are bilingual. Another foot forward for the European nations. We are so egocentric in this country Anna greater part of the population only speaks English. Over a net part of Europe most citizens speak at least two languages maybe more because from childhood this is what their schooling does.
You would not even be able to do such an interview in Florida. It is pretty certain that you would either be ticketed or arrested. Meatball DeSantis saw to that, but that is the name Trump gave to him. It is so nice to have roots in Europe, and see that there is humanity. The diversity created by the former president has made us become a very backwards Nation. This is not a political chant. Joe Biden had the gumption to a point a gay man and his husband to one of the highest positions in his cabinet. Under Trump they would probably be locked up, and never go near the White House. Political diversity created by the last administration has really divided the issue even further. You can actually feel the tension when you go out in public.😢
Nice video. Must be fun to travel so much. I know this isn't true in many places around the world, but in my experience the overwhelming majority of people don't care. They genuinely believe in live and let live, love who you love.
If you make this question to any Brazilian, all of then would lie: "It's ok. I don't care", but inside, when no camera on is, you would think different! Do you want to check? I give you a place to live, but Brazil is big!
@jeffrebornnow i get the humor in that but I have had very little problem here with any haters in FL and we have many gays in the middle of the state aka cow country…like Okeechobbee. It’s about the individual. But unfortunately we let asshats run the place and compromise on things.
Nice to see but only half true. He should have interviewed immigrants from muslim countries (and there are a lot in NL) - their reaction would have been completely differnent and even if i don't want to generalize it's a fact that immigration made Amsterdam and NL a lot less safe for LGBT people.
Silly girl says older people are conservative. They’re the very people who voted in all the liberal stuff you take for granted. It wasn’t voted in by 25 year olds. The social conservatives today are extremely skewed to immigrant religious groups and one in particular. The victim status that’s applied to gays all the time is way out of date in Europe. It’s time to split the T and Q off LGB. Those are different groups with very different issues and it’s no longer helping either group to be combined together. We don’t combine Afro Caribbeans with Muslims, they are both largely non white minorities but they don’t mix and are not facing the same issues in society.
You say Amsterdam is gay friendly but literally none of the people you interviewed are locals. And the arguably gay friendliest of all of them are from Tennessee! What! Bro go outside the tourist areas and try your call again.
Abandon his country? How is it his country when it hates and persecutes him for being gay? No sane person with an ounce of courage would fight for that.
This makes me want to cry. As a resident of South Carolina, I see an erosion of gay rights in my country after years of slow progress. Sad.
Nice supercut of some Amsterdam interviews. 🎤👍👍👍👍👍😃

No religion, no bigotry.

In Amsterdam and none of the interviewers were Dutch???
Couldn’t find Dutch people
Ridiculous interview. Not one of the interviewees are from Holland

Would love to go there one day.
*Gay for a Day! Ha Ha* 🤣😉
It's apparent these interviews were not conducted in the state of Florida. 😛😛😛

Lovely One!!!! Always!!!! With Lovely People!!!!
That was beautiful.....the world is certainly changing for the better....slowly but surely getting there!
Very nice job Art!
That was heart warming. Wish the entire world felt this way. Even if they don't, their hatred diminishes them not the target of their hatred.
Amsterdam is one of coolest cities in the world......
Every gay needs a straight best friend ❤️

Art, you're a terrific ambassador for Gay men.
I'm gay for a day everyday
I love Amsterdam and so gay friendly
❤❤❤
Most people will answer according to the idea of themselves they want to promote. Sometimes leading to awkwardness. Haha
Dang! 🎉🎉
You didn't interview any Dutch people 🤔
Strange that no one born in Amsterdam showed up to talk about the subject....
❤❤❤❤❤
Some of the most open minded folks, that I have ever heard of in a video. We American's could learn a lesson from them.
🎉❤
Beautiful ❤️🌈
You would get the same reactions if you interviewed random people in downtown San Francisco 🌈
Now try Abuja
This is a civilized society, the Dutch.

I don’t care what straight people think, personally.
Amsterdam is awesome 👍♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
how big is ants can we see it
You have to find a new Dutch BF. They're the Best.

I think he has to ask it in the night. Amsterdam is not the Amsterdam from the 80ties. There is a lot of homophobia
You say Amsterdam is gay friendly but literally none of the people you interviewed are locals. And the arguably gay friendliest of all of them are from Tennessee! What! Bro go outside the tourist areas and try your call again.
this is not amsterdam.amsterdam is not a safe place for the lgbit+
Amsterdam, what a fake place.
now go to russia, and ask this questions there)
If you like Amsterdam so much stay over there. Why did you abandon your country and not join the forces? Chicken?
Abandon his country? How is it his country when it hates and persecutes him for being gay? No sane person with an ounce of courage would fight for that.
Isn't 'straight' a synonym for normal, correct? If so, why should we use it?
The opposite of "straight" is "crooked".
Never heard of it as a synonym for normal, and only as a colloquialism for correct. As in "damn straight."
