You guys, these videos save me so much hassle of trying them on/ buying and returning! I've loved these series, just came across your Oakley size guides, and now I'm looking at smith's. Keep up the awesome channel!
@@kapture520 I tried the I/O Mag on two years ago. The fit based on my experience is more of an M than L. I have head/helmet size of 59cm and consider my face L/XL. The Mag barely fit me with the lens off the frame, and with the lens on it made the goggle so rigid that the far edges sat on my cheeks, leaving a gap at the nose, as there was little give to the flatter direction. With a slightly narrower cheekbones, I could have barely make the goggle fit. Also note that Smith has Asian fit available.
Tried I/O Mag and it was a nice fit, maybe getting a bit snug. But, I preferred the I/O Mag XL, but that's when I had a problem with the gap on my nose. Would the XL with the low bridge nose model be the best option, or would the medium be best? I unfortunately cant try the low bridge model as no one has it in stores
I have been watching all of your latest google videos, they are awesome. Have learned so much from them. One thing I would love to see is the view from inside the google, I noticed that say Smith Green lens has a deep rose color. I'm sure the others are the same so hard to purchase without seeing what the view will be. Anyway great videos, way better than anyone else on You Tube.
I have way too much space left and right next to my nose wings with the Smith 4D Mag. I could literally put my small finger through that gap. Can you recommend any Smith google that would match my nasal area in this regard? Any answers are much appreciated. Cheers!
I have the smith project goggles and a giro ratio helmet and it's a very comfortable combo I was looking to upgrade to the squad or squad xl I like the xl but I wouldn't want it to be too big I tried on a pair of my friends goggles which were bigger than mine and it was crushing my nose. My head size is like 7.5 thanks
Hi Vincent! A 7.5 hat size would be considered a large to extra large, which is what the Smith Squad XL is considered so it should fit you. The Squad is considered a medium fit which is similar to the Smith Project. We hope this helps and thanks for reaching out!
I have a oakley line miner xl. its great but fogs up occasionally. Do you think the smith io mag xl would be good or should I go for the regular version. thanks.
Hey Rob and TJ, great vid as always. Not goggle related but I was going around searching for a helmet and noticed some brands like Sandbox etc have an Asian fit for helmets. I know some brands of goggles do Asian fit and your video about Asian fit goggles was great, would be interesting to see a vid on Asian fit helmets and fit guides etc. Cheers!
Thank you so much for watching and thank you for the question! We tried our hand at helmets and we not successful. Our strengths lie in eyewear, for sure. While we've heard of Sandbox and heard good things, we cannot comment enough to be helpful. Sorry!
I bought some smith i/o goggles a few days ago from a local ski shop and noticed they don't have the little pressure button on the lense like I see in all the vids. Did they get rid of it or did I get some fakes?
Great review guys. I'm looking for a replacement for my aging Spy Doom goggles. My big head is wide, so the curvature of a lot of goggles don't work for me. I was wondering which pair Smith goggles is closest in size and frame curvature to the Spy Doom?
Is there a significant size difference in the regular I/O mag vs the I/O mag S? I definitely need asian fit , but trying to decide which would be a better fit. There seem to be more color options for the regular mag.
Bigger is better, but not because it looks cooler. Bigger usually promotes a better field of view. Get the biggest your helmet will tolerate and still get a good seal on the face.
Ideally, there should not be any gaps in the foam. A common fix for the gap in the foam in the nose bridge is to go for the Asian Fit version of the goggle. th-cam.com/video/hIiUDGYZhM4/w-d-xo.html
They are not the same thing, but you can find those here: www.sportrx.com/smith-io-mag-s-snow-goggle.html You can also call our friendly, knowledgeable opticians for more tailored assistance at 888-831-5817!
Howdy! I/O Mag XL stands 3.75 inches tall vs the Squad XL at 4 inches tall. 7.25 inches is the width for both. Because the Squad has a cylindrical lens, the I/O Mag XL will protrude a bit more from one’s face due to its spherical lens shape. Hope this helps! 👉www.sportrx.com/smith-io-mag-xl-snow-goggle.html 👉www.sportrx.com/smith-squad-xl-snow-goggle.html
Hi Danny! The Photochromic Red Mirror lens would be a lighter lens compared to the Everyday Red Mirror lens as it is a brown base while the Everyday Red Mirror being a grey base. If you experience more bright sunny days than overcast, Everyday Red Mirror is recommended and if you experience equally cloudy and sunny days, Photochromic Red Mirror would be the better choice. Thanks for reaching out!
That has the Chromapop Everyday Red mirror. It's at the top of our recommendations list! th-cam.com/video/cyFDhteDVys/w-d-xo.html Remember, you can always reach out to our friendly, knowledgeable opticians for more tailored assistance at 888-831-5817
We have a unique measurement to try to tackle this problem. It is a tough one, but our measurement is consistent. It is the width (plus foam) + lens height = SportRx Goggle Width: IO Mag S: 149+83=232 IO Mag: 147+89=236 Don't forget, you can always reach out to our friendly, knowledgeable opticians for more tailored assistance at 888-831-5817
That's a great question! Hat size is a good thing to consider. Also, knowing what your experience normally is when buying eyewear. Do you find that things are commonly too large/small? If not, then you are likely in that average/medium range. Fortunately, goggle sizing is much more forgiving than your typical eyewear. Hi Gabby! Thanks so much for the love!
Hey... did you happen to buy one of these? I'm also an asian girl and am wondering if the regular Mag would be too big?

Hi there! We will add that to our content list! Thanks for the recommendation!
What can you recommend for smith 4D mag low nose bridge but with large lenses?

Hi I'm considering io mag s or 4d mag s. Are they the same shape or is one bigger than the other. ATM I have their Vogue goggles.. Thanks
Hi! The 4Ds is slightly larger than the ios and is closer in size to that of the vogue 👍
