Seriously. I have the GoPro hero 12 and it’s my first GoPro. I love it! I’m saving up for a pocket 3. They are like comparing apples and oranges. Or better yet a vintage pocket watch and a G-Shock. Both great but not the same tool.
I have the Pocket 3, perpetually use it for my insta vloging. I thoroughly enjoy its compact dimensions and resourcefulness. Additionally use the official LUT for "post production".
That was the most complete and detail camera test I have ever experienced out of the 50,000 I have seen on youtube, I will now subscribe to your channel.
I already have the OP3, and I love it. If I were filming in inclement weather, I'd still use an umbrella to protect the OP3, or even if I was using a weather sealed camera. No need to push my luck, if I can avoid it. For me, because of the tracking feature alone, I'd still lean towards the OP3.
I have both cameras, when I shoot indoor or in lowlights environment I use my OP3. When I’m outside and I need that stabilization and not that much fuzziness video, I used my GoPro. Either way, both is a great choice.

@@thefilmalliance I saw a video somewhere on TH-cam, where you could make the Pocket 3 even more inconspicuous by holding it horizontally in the palm of your hand (also having clicked twice to make the camera points straight ahead, as well), and that way people don't notice, seemingly as if you are looking at your phone or something!

As a portable and discret camera,what do you think of the new lumix s9 for the still pictures as a complement of my op3 for the video? Panasonic seems to have the best stab if I want to use it for small videos like landscape pans. My canon G7x is getting old and I hate the smartphones pictures with unnatural sharpen (and flashy colors for the samsung). The op3 has a ridiculous definiton for the stills.

For an auction cam now i have the auction 4 that it destroys the gopro 12 in almost every situation. Have also the op3 but like i said it's a different product , but if i have to choose between this 2? of course the op3 and for an auction also dji. Gopro unfortunately from the gopro11 and then has stay behind in comparison with the competition ( dji and insta ) . Have to make a really good product with the GoPro 13 to came again to play and maybe take the lead like it had it for many years in the past.
@@thefilmalliance I'am fun of your work joe. i really enjoy watching your video. i don't write often and i'm not a professional like you, i use my cams only for personal use , trips etc with my family (enjoying make videos) , but i watch you almost 2 years now starting when i was searching infos about the zv-e10 ( that i had until before summer 2023 and replace it with the zv-e1 ) . That days 2022 you were very very useful your and another youtuber (mark bennetts......) Now i have the zv-e1 ( that i don't use it kind offen from the moment i got the op3 ) , the op3 and the auction 4. So get a auction 4 and you will see that is much much better that the gopro 12. I had the 11 and the 12 with gopro labs firmware that you get a wide gamut log profile and if you like post editing and grading stuff you can have good results but the auction 4 is way better and less efort with there dlog profile. Better stab , better low light performance , no overheating , much more practical with external stuff like microphones , and now that it cost less than 300€ i think is the best auction camera. I also 2 weeks ago try the new insta ace pro but send it back to amazon. i didn't like it . Thx again m8. Cheers from italy

It charges much faster than the GoPro Hero 12 and it does not overheat and shut down like the GoPro does. The last thing that somebody want is for their camera to shut down. I watched many youtube videos where youtubers are having problems with their GoPro either it runs out of battery or overheats and shuts down.
Should be interesting to see what Go Pro and Insta360 come up with next, after DJI set the bar so high! Could be some amazing products, since they will have to compete! In the meantime, I have the Pocket 3 and an older Go Pro 10, as well as an Insta360 X3. Definitely like the Pocket 3 the best, though I like the Go Pro, as it seems so durable and compact, and the Insta360 X3 which I use once in a while for those overhead clips. Originally, I was going to lug my Sony a7C full-frame to England sometime (atop a Webill S gimbal), but having since bought the Pocket 3, I'll use that, and maybe just the a7C (without gimbal!) for some shots. Except for the beautiful bokeh (from the a7C and 35 mm lens), the Pocket 3 footage generally looks just about as good, and has some bokeh! Amazing, especially in low-light, though the low-light footage seems to look better when 'not' in the 'low-light' setting, somehow!
I was really looking for you to touch on water & dust resistance for Osmo 3. I love the features offered on Osmo 3. I’m just unsure if it can handle my sweat or rain or the combination if I bring it for hiking.
I'd say if you're out and sweating bring a towel to dry off your hands or go with the Gopro Hero 12. The Osmo Pocket 3 shouldn't get any water in or around it.
There is a correction to the Screen Off on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Go to Settings > Scrn Off When Rec > you can set the display to turn off at 3s to 10 min and Never.
@@thefilmalliance yes, there was a firmware update that was released about a week ago and it fixed a bunch of things and I guess the display off feature was packaged in there. I didn't notice since I just did all my firmware updates right after I unboxed it so I didn't know it was missing.

You can't compare these cameras they are completely different cameras for purposes . I would just give you one example . You would not want to go skydiving with the Pocket 3 camera . They are both good cameras in their own right ... but to be fair you do point out at the end of the video what they are both could be used for ..

With tripod indoor no need for stabilization, pound per pound the Sigma lenses are the best. I have the 16mm F1.4 30mm F1.4 and 56mm F1.4 i ise more the 30mm with the 56mm u need to stay a bit away from the subject but gosh the image that comes out of this lens is unbelievable. Now the have also the 23 mm F1.4 which I think for indoor could be the best. Otherwise, but i don't have it, if you don't like to continously change lens the Sigma 16-50 mm F2.8 will do a great job.
I have a falcam cage it says it has a f38 on the bottom and f38 on the side, but I can't get the side one work/slot in. Its seens wrong that it says f38 but I just can't get it to work on the side.
It is a difficult decision, price wise the Gopro wins, but I already have Gopro 8’s. So it wont be a new tool for me, whereas the pocket 3 can add something else, but at a higher price…
I actually like the Gopro better. Only because I usually in flat color in good lighting. This allows me to be more creative in post. I agree with you that pocket 3 is amazing in low lighting situations. I like both cameras. It is easier to carry than my Sony ZV-E10 with all my gear for spontaneous shooting.
Still go with GoPro or action 4 despite your claim on battery life can’t charge pocket 3+ miles in woods 🤷♂️ which tree do you plug into? Despite any perceived beneficial options sealed battery is a no go, zero review how long battery will last and or how long to have it replaced when that time comes or how much $ battery + service + shipping 🤦♂️ useless imho if you have to be weather conscious, rain sprinkle or torrential snow falling fluff or horizontal sleet … is all part of the experience 👍
Dislike for comparing what shouldn't have been compared. These are cameras for different purposes. Osmo Poker 3 is for traveling, and DVR12 is for extreme sports.
Aw cmon, complete beginners would find value in this. At one point in my journey, I would have searched for this. A lot of people don’t know what the differences between these two cameras. I did my best to lay out how they are different and specifically talked about the action camera versus the camera gimbal stabilizer. I don’t think this video is for someone like you, who has more experience and knows what the difference is right off the top. It’s more for beginners. Do you know what I mean?
@@thefilmalliance, As a training material, what to pay attention to when choosing, maybe. But this is hype. I was also a newbie, and was taken in by GoPro. I endured it for a month and sold it. I saw what happens to the image when restoring geometric distortions during editing, how the image is stretched. If the direction of 12, 3, 6, 9 hours still retains 4K, then at 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, 10:30 there is not even 2k left. After this, I do not perceive such cameras as worthy of attention at all
@@thefilmalliance, I use cameras to capture travel memories. At that time I had GoPro 7, and I still had a couple of videos from it on the channel. I was very unhappy with her. Now I’m looking at reviews of all action cameras, and they still have no chance of win to the DJI Pocket, and I’ve had all three cameras in the Pocket series for all these 5 years. I even filmed it underwater with a special “waterproof case” And I’m waiting for DJI to make one for 3. Although third-party manufacturers have already made several. And by the way, on my channel I have a video from a camera in HDR, but you don’t))))))

GoPro 12 is living in 2012. Video quality was noticeably different. Unless I’m out in the elements or doing action sports it’s a no brainer.

At 2:49, Camera A shows horrible unnatural blue sky which confirmed that it is OP3.
Well it could be the WB sensor. It was in auto for that shot

Dislike for comparing what shouldn't have been compared. These are cameras for different purposes. Osmo Poker 3 is for traveling, and DVR12 is for extreme sports.
Aw cmon, complete beginners would find value in this. At one point in my journey, I would have searched for this. A lot of people don’t know what the differences between these two cameras. I did my best to lay out how they are different and specifically talked about the action camera versus the camera gimbal stabilizer. I don’t think this video is for someone like you, who has more experience and knows what the difference is right off the top. It’s more for beginners. Do you know what I mean?

As a training material, what to pay attention to when choosing, maybe. But this is hype. I was also a newbie, and was taken in by GoPro. I endured it for a month and sold it. I saw what happens to the image when restoring geometric distortions during editing, how the image is stretched. If the direction of 12, 3, 6, 9 hours still retains 4K, then at 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, 10:30 there is not even 2k left. After this, I do not perceive such cameras as worthy of attention at all

I use cameras to capture travel memories. At that time I had GoPro 7, and I still had a couple of videos from it on the channel. I was very unhappy with her.
Now I’m looking at reviews of all action cameras, and they still have no chance of win to the DJI Pocket, and I’ve had all three cameras in the Pocket series for all these 5 years.
I even filmed it underwater with a special “waterproof case”
And I’m waiting for DJI to make one for 3. Although third-party manufacturers have already made several.
