Here in this Title Match exclusive, Sabu talks about working for WCW in the mid 90s where he wrestled several talents like Disco Inferno, Jerry Lynn, Alex Wright among others.
Find out what plans Eric Bischoff had for him and how he was getting pushed to be in the cruiserweight division. Sabu says he really wanted to wrestle stars like Hulk Hogan or Sting to help get them over but was told the opportunity was not there.
Also, Sabu admits that he essentially double-crossed WCW by going back to his home promotion ECW for an apperance. He didn't find out he was fired from WCW until he called the WCW hotline.

Sabu is right. He wasn't a cruiserweight wrestler. He should've at least moved him to upper midcard at least until he could've worked with Sting or Hogan.

He was a high flyer under the 220 pound mark. He was absolutely a cruiserweight.

I like Sabu as a performer, but his style was more fitting for the cruiserweight division at WCW at the time. If he went against Hogan, he wouldn't put him over, sell anything he does, or even let him do his signature moves. ECW was the right fit for Sabu.

Man! Just imagine if Sabu being a what if scenario would have stuck around in WCW for about two through 1995 & 1996 imagine what kind of WCW Cruiserweight matches he might have had against "Rey Mysterio Jr, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, Alex Wright, the Disco Inferno, the Ultimo Dragon, La Parka, Pyschosis, & Juventud Guerrerro". It's a pity & shame it didn't happen.

In 1988 no one would have put Shawn Michaels with Hogan either, or Bret Hart. Hogan, as a wrestler, was an embarrassment. He was pure look and promo. He was always an embarrassment in the ring. He was brilliantly packaged and sold in the early 80s and coasted on that for the next two decades. If Sabu and Hogan worked in the ring at Sabu's pace Hogan would have been embarrassed so it never would have been allowed because professional wrestling by and large is horseshit for marks.

@@user-tl4fi6oy8d true he coasted on what he was packaged as. The hogan thay fought in Japan though......that hogan would have had EPIC matches with sabu.

@@user-tl4fi6oy8d mainstream wrestling is all about show and entertainment. It doesn't matter that Hogan wasn't the master ring technician as others were. The goal is to draw money. In-ring wrestling DOES NOT draw money or at least in large amounts. Many wrestlers have said it many times. Some promotions have built themselves on in ring wrestling such as ROH but it didn't get them much success in the mainstream.
