Lakers Summer Shooting Woes Continue, Team Still Weighing Trade Options

- The Lakers' Summer League team displayed their 2nd straight poor shooting performance; is that something to be concerned about? Plus, where the trade market currently sits for LA...
Every year I hear the same thing - "its summer league" and "player x" will be fine... ENOUGH! We haven't had a good Showing in years!
This man crying over summer exhibition games 😂😂😂😂
ENOUGH 😂😂😂
@@GENUINEGUYFROMIG no I'm talking about the reporting of the games! Reading comprehension can be valuable - try it.
Lakers as constructed will be lucky to make the play-in. Rob did not improved the team at all. That’s embarrassing.
You guys really undervalue Dlo. He was clearly the third best player. ON occasion your best and 40 percent from THREE.
People make Superstars out of these young players before they even hit the NBA court. A lot of these young players learn the hard way that the NBA is not a joke. You have to earn your keep in the nba. As they are now learning.
Y’all stay making excuses. If they came out balling these first two games y’all would be gassing
Facts.
😂 hell yeah
Welcome to fandom.
No moves being made is making us put a ton of faith in a rookie head coach being really good at coaching right out of the gate
JJ isn't coaching summer league
The Lakers are a joke we gave a rookie second-round pick that hasn't proved anything a 4-year deal wasting money and a pick before the summer league started SMH he didn't even get a not a 2-way contract but a 4-year deal 🤦🏽
Rob and Jeannie need to a pick a direction. Rebuild or compete. Can't do both.
This is giving me a Warriors vibe, where not picking a direction is just as detrimental.
Clearly retooling and competing
We lost to Denver on two buzzer beaters.
Imagine losing to Denver in like 12 straight games and still making excuses
ad will turn 32 during this upcoming season. if bron plays 2/3 more yrs that makes ad 34/35 post-bron. stop talking about a potential third option now but "does he fit with ad in the future." it's ridiculously stupid.
LeBron & AD each play less than 66 games this season.
Yeah, We need to Shoot better during Summer League however, I’m more concerned bout Our Defense and Lac(k) of Effort - The GSW got every loose ball Today.
This team is close and far at the same time. We need to make a move but we need to wait for the right move. However if LA can't bring someone in by the trade deadline I think moving LeBron and AD should be on the table mid-season.
Yall love Austin Reaves so much that u would move AD & LBJ 😂😂😂
@@wills.9422It needs to be studied guy is so overrated lol
@@wills.9422 its pointless to waste LeBron's last years and if they don't make a move they are waste AD's best year too SMH. I guess the smart thing to do is not make a move and Waste LeBron and AD 🤷♂️
The Lebron and AD core reached it's ceiling in 2020. And almost every young team in the west is getting better and better. The Rockets are getting better, the Grizzlies are BACK, ANTMAN is getting better so the wolves are in tack. Don't forget the two teams from the state of Texas who each have a GENERATIONAL Talent, Luka on Mavs and Wemby on Spurs. Bron is pushing 40 and AD is turning 32. Accept it.
Your comment history is nothing but going on laker videos and hating. lol.
Kind of a downer attitude considering it's a Lakers fan site. AD was just 2nd team all NBA and Lebron was 3rd team. It's more about the role players. We don't have KCP, D Howard, Caruso, Danny Green, Rondo or anyone else from that team. If AD and Lebron get the right supporting cast and are coached well I think they can still compete with the best. Look what a couple role players helped the Mavs do at the trade deadline last year.
Young teams rarely win anything
@@rickthomas9430and that’s where you’re wrong! That’s why the Lakers will not win another championship until LeBron is gone. Maybe AD and Jimmy Butler can do something. But Lebron the stat man with no impact is a mirage!
@@rickthomas9430stop hating on Bron it’s the FO that continues to fail 😅putting no shooting or defense around AD and Bron
The problem is that other teams are getting so much better. At this point I’m ok with rebuilding. Every team has to eventually.
Lakers Got 17th and 55th Picks in the Draft!, Nothing in Free Agency! Fire Rob Pelinka! 💜✌💛
The Lakers' 3-point shooting curse 😄. Just kiddin'. I don't read anything into the fist two games.
This team as is,is a a playoffs team if all of the players are Healthy.Last year The back up point guard was out most of the season and our best defender was out most of the time also.If we find a true center to help AD,we will be fine. And at the trade dead line we can trade for what we need to move on.Butvthis team is not as bad as peopke think it is
With the talent in the West this team might be worse than people think
The Lakers need Kessler. If A.D. goes down for any length of time, the Lakers are cooked.
Pelicans made the right move. They knew the Lakers gonna be terrible and in the lottery. Now they gonna draft Cooper Flagg in 2025.
The Pelicans traded the pick. And unless something dramatically bad happens on the injury front it certainly isn't going to be a lottery pick. That's why the Pelicans traded it. Players like Jaxon Hayes weren't paying off.
It's the picks post-Lebron, that some want to give away for a bunch of mid-30's player's, re-treads like Kuzma and BI or Kessler that is scary.
People still trying to force a trade from Dlo I’m not trading him unless I get a star I’m not trading him for cam Johnson or anyone they aren’t better players I’m not a Dlo Stan but we seem very desperate to trade for something when you can just look at your roster and see that we have some work to do but we have a good team lol
It feels like we’re back to where we were 10+ years ago
That's your problem - you brush off until it becomes a problem. If you're rebuilding it is a concern if you have return players to the classic from last year.
Not putting much stock in the Lakers front office or upcoming talent.
Don’t blame Rob. Nobody wants to play alongside Lebron or his overrated son. And that’s not Rob’s fault
It’s not negativity because the lakers haven’t done moves. It’s because everyone else got better. The same team from last year has no chance to make the play in.
The general atmosphere about our team this coming season is not very good. The first thing to do is admission of this. The second thing to do is to calibrate our expectations low so that anything over than that would be a surprise which can be a pleasant thing. Third would be looking ahead of this season and at least try to enjoy each game of Lakers basketball. If you can't do that, do something useful in your life.
What's the ceiling of this years team? C O N F E R E N C E F I N A L S ???!!! Seriously? I think the ceiling is actually making the Play-In
As currently constructed is looking like that. At best a repetition of last year. Maybe a better matchup than Denver in the first round but I believe lakers will make a couple moves before season starts.
I think the Magic and Nets are the options for DLo if he’s traded. The Magic would more than likely see him as an upgrade over Fultz and Cole Anthony.
The Lakers FO are smart for not making a MOVE to make a move. As of now, every inquiring trade will involve TWO first round draft picks. Wait for trade deadline. Trades need to be made by then, for potential BUY OUT signings.
What really irritates me about lakers fans is they have short term memory the lakers had more key wins without lebron than with him the team played more freely and shared the ball hence the 2 blowout wins vs boston and Milwaukee everyone is so caught up in making moves when the team isnt really that bad last season the lakers left a ton of wins slip by mostly because of injuries and Darvin Scam not making adjustments when needed and his inability to use his time outs in key moments sure the front office has been subpar but lebron also shares most if not majority of the blame for not relying on the youth playes enough to carry him to the playoffs players like Max Christie and now Dalton Knecht need to be utilized more why have them on the roster if your not going to maximize their potential
Bruh shut up
I have all four youngsters in my second unit with Robert Williams III at center (acquired via trade w/POR for Vincent, Hayes, and a protected first):
PG - Schifino
SG - James
C -- Williams
PF - Lewis
SF - Knecht
I have zero problems developing Schifino, Lewis, and Knecht while "going for it" with veterans in the starting lineup.
Max Lewis is so inconsistent. Hinson catch and shoot is okay. His handle is poor, won't be able to get his own shop.
Most shooters don't get their own shop klay doesn't get his own shot
@@sherbstoneklay got 60 on 6 dribbles
The Lakers will be barely better than the Pistons this year.
Lakers shooting is something that should be researched by scientists and scholars.
Every single role player that puts on a Lakers uniform see’s their outside shooting plummet (that first season).
Without fail.
I am convinced that the Lakers could sign Steph Curry (tomorrow), and his three ball percentage would drop to 34% that first season.
No doubt in my mind.
The LAKER tax is so annoying. Laker basketball is good for the league.
Don’t need to make a trade just to make a trade. They can run it back and make trades at the deadline
yeah thats how u win a ring with a 2 month team :D
17:52
Everyone is majorly overinflating Johnson's worth - Rui is better, so trading DLo, a first AND all the rest suggested for him would be idiotic.
Johnson is a better shooter and defender. Hachimura is the better overall player, a better go-to scorer, more physically imposing. If you need pure 3&D, Johnson is worth Russell, Reddish, and a protected first for Johnson.
I definitely think they’ll make a trade or two!!! But if they don’t, this team will be a top 5 seed if Bron and AD both play at least 65 games!!!
We didn’t run it back after we lost to the Suns who went to the finals and we would have beaten them due to injuries and we paid dearly for not running it back so I agree Same roster but better with JJ and Connect 4
Trade #1:
Dump Wood into any team with 3m of space (will probably have to attach a 2nd)
Trade #2:
Trade Hachimura, Reaves, and Vanderbilt to CHI for Zach LaVine, their 2025 first round pick (via POR), and two seconds
Trade #3:
Trade Vincent, Hayes, and return Portland's first round pick (via LaVine trade) to POR for Robert Williams III
Trade #4:
Trade Russell, Reddish, and a heavily protected LAL first round pick to BRK for Cam Johnson
PG - 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 - 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗼
SG - Christie - James
C -- 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘀 - Williams
PF - Johnson - 𝗟𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘀
SF - 𝗟𝗮𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗲 - 𝗞𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗵𝘁
It’s not the same team, half of last year’s team was hurt most of the year. The Lakers just need a real Center that can start 70 games. The rest is okay.
The same individuals who were celebrating the signing of Christian Wood want to trade players and draft capital for a player (Kessler) who averaged about 8 and 8 on a bad team and has already been traded twice. The Grizzlies and Timberwolves both traded him. He was filler in the Gobert trade. Maybe try to get him then instead of Malik Beasley or in addition to? I'm fairly certain it wouldn't have cost an unprotected 1st just as LeBron retires.
Other teams aren't fleecing the Lakers. The Lakers front office is fleecing the Lakers. Ainge playing chess. Pelinka playing Pictionary with people cheering him on this time last year.
At this point, please don't do anything! No scenario out there makes us a contender. Do not force a westbrook type trade to save your face, only setting the team back a few years again. Just be mediocre for the next 2 seasons, keep picks and wait for Lebron to leave (and I'm a Lebron fan). But it's the truth. You might want to think about trading AD in a few seasons as well. Collapse the thing, build from bottom up...looking forward to new blood and direction, eventhough it means we will suck. I'd rather be a lottery team than a play in team at this point.
Trade Hachimura, Reaves, and Vanderbilt (to CHI), and Vincent, Hayes, and 2025 CHI/POR first (to POR), and Wood and a second into space (anywhere) for LaVine and Robert Williams III.
Clears four roster spots for one more big move. Adds athleticism, speed, and shooting to the backcourt and bonafide backup rim protection -- two of their biggest needs.
If they also trade Russell, Reddish, and one of their own picks (heavily protected) for Cam Johnson, with five roster spots still open (all mins), their team looks like this:
PG - James - Schifino
SG - Christie - James
C -- Davis - Williams
PF - Johnson - Lewis
SF - LaVine - Knecht
Thank god your not the GM
Remember 2014-2015 season.... It's back
I don’t think ANY team will make a trade with the Lakers that doesn’t include both first round picks!!!
Covering summer league statistics is so unnecessary. It does not matter.
If the Bucks keep Lopez then they still have 2 bigs which is where the league is headed these days. Denver has a 7 foot center and a 6’10” small forward. The Celtics have a 7’3” power forward and a 6’10” small forward. These are our last 2 nba champs. We have AD at 6’10” as our reluctant center and LeBron at 6’8.5” as our power forward. The years that Golden State won they had McGee and Looney waiting in the wings if needed. We have to have the option of a big bodied center when we play against centers like Zubac and Jokic.
Why is AR untouchable? Personally I’d keep DLo over AR.
You got the wrong idea from that Nuggets series. Yall were beating them every single game for the most part until it came to the 4th quarter. That's a coaching problem.
your ignoring denver made open looks and made difficult looks vs ad every game somebody new would step up lakers they ran out of gas an bricked open looks.
@@SilverShades95 They were beating the nuggets almost every game until the 4th quarter came. The Nuggets would adjust and because Ham doesn't make in game adjustments well the Lakers would flail.
The players openly stated that they had no game plan. Adding a coach committed to the game management with a healthy roster is an upgrade.
@@skaterockerstar the west got better you can't rely on what happened last season especially when guys like dlo don't show up in the playoffs and they have done nothing in free agency nor have found a center.
@MazeBlurs90 I get that, but yall are couching this Lakers team as a lottery team, and that's not the case. Get a backup center, sure, but you don't need widespread changes to the roster. If JJ pans out, which I think he will, with getting Vando back, Gabe and etc. You all should be straight.
This is my prediction for Dalton Knecht in his rookie year
7.6 ppg
2.9 rpg
2.0 apg
0.7 spg
0.3 bpg
40.1 fg %
36.4 3ptfg%
All rookie 2nd team
All of our shot percentages look like MLB batting averages. And I'm not talking Tony Gwynn or Wade Boggs here 😬
We need a BIG
You guys are lying.
Acting like you’re not worried about how bad this game was 🤦🏽♂️
Y not try to get Wendell n Kessler. 3 big rotation like Wolves. AD won’t play a lot of games n they can step in bc they are starter quality. N even for the future. Feel like all 3 can play wit each other. Versatility!
I was at the games kel el looked lost after both days none of these dudes in summer league ready to play except the warriors team
Why does the dude Sean always have that goofy expression?😂
Stop being petty..Who cares about your goofy comment
Trev, you hit the nail on the head. The other teams are overpaying for positions that we need in order to make the RFA and UFA's out there take other offers and the Lakers only being able to offer what little they can.
They're definitely a playoff team. My question though is are they a championship team? And when you have LeBron and AD, that's the only question that matters. Gotta hope they do something.
@@JWickyJr13 no, they're a play in team
Ok, here's a positive in amongst all this negativity..... at least JJ wasn't coaching the Summer League team lol. Imagine all the added negative press if it was JJ leading the team when they were playing crap and gettin blown out. Dang, that shit would be NASTY! And as Trev says, IT'S JUST SUMMER LEAGUE! Block it out and lets move on, GROWTH PEOPLE GROWTH. LETSGOOOOOOOO! 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍
Go get Cam Johnson, DFS, & Dennis Schroeder for Dlo, Austin Reeves, Rui and a Unprotected 1st round pick. Lakers have to Trade Austin and stop trying to hold on to him. Smh.
So hard to find anything good to say they just sucked today. But daltion has good looking shots. Henson tried too hard for his shots. Castleton needs to demand the ball
JJ shouldve been coaching, theres no plays runs for K4 and theres no coaching at all
He's not a real coach, just a LeBron's buddy.
Why haven't y'all mentioned Kuhse yet? He looks like a top player on the summer league team.
Rob is definitely Sonny Weaver Jr at the beginning of Draft Day. And every team in the NBA is the Seahawks. We will be taxed!
Does this mean the sky is falling? Ah, no, Trevor, the sky fell in the later stages of Kobe's career. That was 2013. That's 11 years and the only thing that is looming on the horizon is a major rebuild which might take another 11 years.
Here we go with the judging again so early OMG😂😂😂😂
Theor offense is a mess. That tells yoi about the quality of coaching staff
thats the problem with sean and trevor always worrying about the long term like they some type of lakers executives your fans get ingram if u can him and ad and bron can do something rite now forget the future thats not your problem thats the lakers front office problem!
I swear y as soon as players put on a Lakers jersey they forget how to shoot
Lakers fans cry so much and always are on Hate agains the team, that why Kobe Bryant almost got out of LA to go go Chicago. He ask for help, but was because Lakers fans made him go crazy becaus all the hate
a trade wont save lakers sorry team
Lakers are not better than the Bucks let’s js be real man😭
AR gotta at least score 25 this yr
Getting tired of the team will try to rob us in deal talks. Every team tries to rob every team. That’s why you have to be a good GM and do your job.
Whatever the Lakers do will be unexpected and out of left field.
We just want the Lakers to blow tf out of mediocre/bad teams and win by 20, stop with that defensive identity winning by 1 possesion, when the golden days of 2020 were upon us we had HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LAKERS GAME but now it is not even enjoyable to watch, nobody runs, nobody tries to get the loose ball, missed 3s, just stop already
Quit praising Dennis like he won something in his career Sean you wild 😂😂😂😂
All we have to look forward to now is the trade deadline Feb 6 2025
Walker Kessler ain’t changing nun

In the words of Darvin Ham they live & die with summer league games! Helluva Summer league team!
That was a helluva team they played today. Helluva of a ball club!
You think people don’t want to sign with the Lakers cuz TH-cam comments criticizing them? Get your head out your arse. Lebron is a repellent
@idkman09 Lol go ask Danny green about the death threats he received same for Beasley last season..ask KCP how Lakers fans booed him because he was in a slump yet ignored his amazing defense.
Apparently you live in a cave with no streaming services or don't have access to social media.
Better yet just look up klays comments about playing in a FISHBOW when u play for the warriors or Lakers.
But you want your narrative to exist so it doesn't matter what rational opinion you hear..you dislike lebron james the way a kid hates vegetables.nothing will ever change your warped idea of him..What did he do to you?
@@idkman09 you’re too worried about Lebron. AD came to the Lakers because of Lebron.
There’s a lot of players that came to the Lakers on free agency because we had AD and Lebron.
The thing your slow head can get around is that no big free agency player would ever sign for a full MLE. That’s peanuts to those guys.
So the only options were sign/trade or trades. And the Lakers have awful assets. Who the F wants DLo or Rui or Gabe? Or even 1sr round picks from 2030? The only player they wanted was Reaves and that’s it.
You got to understand most teams have way better assets than we do to trade for.
The Westbrook trade ruined our foreseeable future. We gave up a lot for nothing but drama and empty stats.
On the positive: "Every coach who has won a Championship with the Lakers did so during their first season"
I mean bruh….. this is awful holy shit. We are so screwed for the next decade
I'm so tired of all of the Lakers excuses..if it isn't one excuse for the front office it's another..now we're talking about it's harder cuz laker tax and Lakers are desperate. This could literally be said about tons of other teams with disgruntled star needing to make a move and guess what. They didn't sit around and comain and do nothing..they made shit happen. Weren't we hearing the last two years that Joel could leave Philly cuz they aren't winning and he wants to win??? Where was the "can't make a trade cuz desperation mode" when they went and got Paul George???
Can we stop with these hypothetical trades that will never happen?? Geez
Where are the players that we are getting?

Old bodies have linited number of minutes in the tank.
@@Marco_LamIn the case of Lebron and A.D., it's about their health. That's all. Lebron is 39. A.D. is injury prone. They both have missed significant 20-30 game stretches from injuries with the exception of last year. Don't put your assumptions about why we think it isn't smart to play in their case onto others. It's their choice, they know their bodies best. They are playing. If they were 30, I wouldn't worry. I'm not sure what players you are referring to regarding not wanting to play because of pay or who 'ain't got no pride" , etc.
I don't really blame them. They get to go play with a great roster and a solid coaching staff. They haven't had this in a few seasons. This should be really refreshing for them. AD will also get to play with other centers, they might even run some 2 big lineups with him. Rob should watch the games and take notes. Lakers have needed another solid big for 2 seasons now.
