Goa is not only about party, drinking and beaches. Its rich and beautiful culture with so many temples and our Hindu culture. I am fortunate to have some Goan friends and they have told me so many amazing things about Goa. As a Maharashtrian I feel so close to Goa, Marathi and Goan are pretty much similar. The first word I learned of from my Goan friends is 'Chediyechya'

Brother, every story has 2 sides. We have covered one side here. Please cover the other side by visiting the northern Karnataka who are fighting for long for Mahaadaayi water. Let's hear that.
Mine is lone voice but it matters. I am from Karnataka and I don't water to be diverted if it is for industry purpose unless it is excess water. But for drinking and agricultural, we must divert it. Let's not bury the real cause which is drinking and agricultural needs under the disguise of industry use.
While you cover the Karnataka side of the story, also cover the drinking water crisis of Northern Karnataka. Bro you have no clue!!! The situation is really really bad. It is 2023 and it is still bad. So much so travellers passing some of the districts never drink water or consume food/drinks in some of the districts in that part because they don't have access to clean water! Those districts are famous of water related diseases.
Additionally, it feels like Karnataka always gets the raw end of the deal when it comes to water sharing with neighbour states.
    Example:
Krishna originates in Maharashtra and Maharashtra has the major say in how water is distributed. We keep begging for water in Summer.
On the other hand Kaveri originates in Karnataka but Tamilnadu has the major say in how water is distributed! We are made to limit our agricultural activities in Kaveri basin! Can you imagine!? Kaveri originates in Karnataka!!!
    Now Mahaadaayi!
P.S. one doesn't own the river if it originates in his/her state. We should always always always share water but in a justifiable manner.

    • @SantoshaKarnataka
      @SantoshaKarnataka ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@sagarsatam2211 sure. As long as it is for drinking water and farming purposes. If my fellow Indians are going to be benefited by this, why not. Between Krishna and Bheema are relatively bigger rivers compared to Mahaadaayi. So I am sure we can share the water that way. In cases like droughts, let's be fair in sharing the water with downstream States too.
You sound like you want to instigate but brother check my comments, I didn't mention we shouldn't be sharing the water. Upstream States or originating States do not own the rivers. Rivers are for sharing but we should do it in a fair manner. Denying drinking and farming water in the disguise of opposing industries is not good.
Between you are talking authoritatively about Krishna and Bheema because they originate in Maharashtra. This is what I am talking about. If you want to enjoy that privilege, you should give that privilege to other states in which their rivers originate.

2nd. If u want ur intricate ecosystem, then first leave ur house right now where u use a pc or a laptop. use only green leaves for ur dress and live like a real ape in a forest. Thats what nature really wanted ,0 human interference.
If goa is water scarce it shows the severe lack of technology usage in the state. Goa is one of the places in India which gets the highest rainfall located on the west of the western ghats on the coast.
Countries like israel dont hav water scarcity.(even its mostly a desert, they convert saline sea water to potable water).
Goa benefits a lot from tourism and its gdp per capital is close 6000 dollars. Using a bit of brain for these things shouldnt hurt.
North karnataka gets little rainfall compared to goa. Now i would say that goa should build reservoirs to store up that huge rainfall water. Is it a damage to ur intricate ecosystem too?

      1) North Karnataka is fed by the Malprabha river, which is a major tributary of the Krishna. The population of north Karnataka is growing by less than 1.5% every 10 years, and the Malprabha should have capacity to provide drinking water to this population for at least the next 40 years. BUT two industries that have recently come up are finishing all the water instead of it reaching the people. Sugarcane and Coal Power Plant.
      2) The division of water was not ordered by the supreme Court but rather by an administrative tribunal. The award of the tribunal has been challenged by Goa and Maharashtra.
      3) and most troubling to me, the Mhadei DPR proposes diverting the Mhadei water into the Malprabha river. Then it also gives a promise that the mhadei water will only be used for drinking. But majority of the water in the Malprabha is used for Sugar and Coal! The DPR does not mention how Karnataka is going to ensure that the water taken from Mhadei reaches the drinking needs of North Karnatakans. It is for these reasons that people like us are skeptical of the project.

Since the Malaprabha is a only major river dependency on this is very high for Drinking, agriculture and power. It's different case with Goa where economy majorly run through Tourism n fishery, N'ka is depended on agriculture where water is required. Similarly tribunal allocated water as below.
The Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal in its final verdict awarded 38.74 tmcft of water to Karnataka, Goa and Maharastra. Karnataka’s share is 13.46 tmcft of which 5.4 tmcft is for supplying drinking water to Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi region. The MWDT has allotted 24 tmcft to Goa and 1.33 tmcft to Maharastra. The Central Water Commission has recently approved Karnataka’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) on diverting Mahadayi water.
Fyi Malaprabha is a very small river it's hardly able to fill the dam and hardly flow after the season. And the course of the river is dry most part of the year. As N'ka also progressing for development recently water need is also increasing and the Malaprabha can't meet the requirement.

@@saideep1 WOw FIRST TIME I heard this word Kannada Impostion from someone mouth. I have been talking about this ever since I learned some facts 3 decades ago. Recently in the wake of the Hindi Imposition propanda movement created my congress my Bunt friends were supporting it.I reminded them that Kannada was imposed on Tulunadu. Kannada language itself is an impositon. There is no language called "Hale kannada" it is actually called Pali(or prakrit I don't remmeber now been along time) they still speak it. Those who have migrated speak Pali. THey also call it hel kannada. But I remember one guy in Gujarat I met he told me he speaks pali but now they call it Hale kannada.
ANother lady I met from Shimoga her parents migrated she was born outside only but her parents tought her all languages. She know Pali prakrit sanskrit and other local dialects we hae not heard of like Sanketi she can alos speak coorgi and Tulu.
My Bunt friend could not believe it when I told that Tipu Sultan first Imposed Parsi langauge as the official language. But since it was very difficult for people to adopt he decided to use another language. But he being the Jihadi that he was he did not want to use the common language that is Sanskrit and Pali. YES Pali and Sanskrit were spoken. The legacy of it is Mathoor And some 4 other small villages who still speak it. The media talks about these villages but we think that they must have reintroduced speaking sanskrit but actually they just continued it.
Tipu like the British and Mughals and other invaders(like portugese in Goa) wanted to destroy our heritage and our identity so we will convert to their religion and also we will not unite and rebel against them.
That is why he did not use the official "Indian" languages at that time Sanskrit and Pali and even Tulu was spoken all the way from Pallakad(now in kerala) till ankola so he took a local dialect and based on that created kannada. Yes.
My college lecturer was a double MA In English and Kannada. He was a English lecturer and Kannada Lecturer too. Once in a combined class he talked about kannada and he called it a prostitute language. The reason being it has not original words most words were taken other languages he listed out many words I remember Arganti is from arrogant. That is why kannada has strange words like "Kaal cheela" for socks etc. This is proof that this language was created and then imposted on Karnataka by Tipu to destroy our real languages. That is why thought The region from Kasargod to Pallakad is Tulu speaking in the school Kannada was introduced.
My Bunt friend could not believe it I told him go check 1800 AD is when Kannada has it origins it was after Tipu sultan was ruling Mysore. Kannada is not older than that. He checked and he was shocked.
I said the worst part is as a BUNT you are supporting a Kannada Impostion on TIPU which was very harsh on Tulunadu.
Karnataka fights for belgaum but did not utter a words when Part of Tulunadu was given away to kerala.
They did this so they could impose Kannada and it is also a plan of Jihad Gazwa e Hind to turn that part of Kerala into Islamic State. There are so many dots that connect.
Also Tulu should be official language as it has its own script. Infact Tulu rulers ruled from Ankola to Tamilnadu and upto Adhra Pradesh in the north At one time it even included GOA. There is enough proof that Tamil originate from Tulu but if we even try to say that Tamilians will go for our throats.
Tulu is probably a langauge older than Tamil but it has got lost with the Kannada impostion and Jihadist agenda of these people who are still in control of Karnataka.
Ideally Tulunadu should have been a seperate state and Coorg should have been a seperate state Tulundud should have extend till Pallakadu and even parts of Wayanad that touch the coorg state border.
The Nampoothiri brahmins of Kerala are Saraswat brahmins ust like SB and GSB Konkanis in Mangalore and they have migrated from saraswat river they have escaped Islamic Religious persecution. They migrated from there to Goa where they again had to escape Portugese religious persectution then they were in Gokarnad they have temples there. Then from there they had to escape Tipu Sultan who followed them into kereal so they had to go south kerela.
My friend who is from Tamil Nadu speaks Hale kannada which is actually pali. He also has some history passed down through the word of mouth. They were actually kannadigas living in Mysore escaped religions persecution of Tipu Sultan and Ran down to South Tamil Nadu which had vast areas that were not inhabited. He was telling me that In Mysore they speak Sanskrit and Pali back then but now Kannada is like the pride of Mysore the brainwashing is too far back and too much to reverse. While this language was imposed by Tipu Sultan. So this particular community fled to Tamil Nadu and Andhra near Tirupati temple area and now have connnected with each other and there are mainly in Pigmy lending business.
Well these things may never be known in by the people it will be lost unless there is some big movement and lot of research done. Most ancient texts have been destroyed but there could still be some evidence somewhere.

Kudos to the team for covering up on this topic. I really fear about our current government, both the state and central who are so busy pleasing the big lobbies that they will eventually destroy lives and living within few years which wouldn't require decades or centuries. The current government that cries about Portuguese looting us seems to be all hypocrisy with so much damage done in this generation than the previous. We speak about pride of India but have a crap mentality. This is what happens when our ministers are not well educated.
The current concern for the government is only religious issues and that is to only win sympathy votes. They have leured every media channels and TH-cam channels into backing their ideologies. Our world in India is not progressive because of such issues.
Knowing that we are already facing climate changes we are seeing development that is happening at an accelerating pace.
    Buildings, factories, businesses, etc.
Many people from other states retire and come to live for good in Goa. Goa itself is having no much space to contain its own population and now to add on to that it is getting stuffed with others migrating.
But with all this problem and with the growing population in Goa how can we supply water?
So many hotels have come up in Goa. Almost everyone one requires swimming pool. You realise how much water does a swimming pool requires?
So many places just have their taps running unattended.
People have a bad habit of filling buckets until they see the water overflow. Why not be conscious of closing the tap before it overflows?
    Hopefully Goa awakens

I'm from Karnataka, the mahadayi issue is promoted to us saying that our cities & people need drinking water, but centre isn't allowing us to construct dam. Now I know it's the agricultural & industrial capitalists who are behind all this. I hate killing nature & people for profit of few & I'm sure all our fellow kannadigas also believe the same. People should understand that people of states aren't fighting, it's the war between rich & poor, where rich are lobbying to make more money by killing the nature & starving the poor.
But we should also make sure that even Goan capitalists won't kill goans. That's why our govts act similar, both govts are helping those rich, being lobbied by them.

It's foolish to imagine that Karnataka is going to divert every drop of Mahadayi into Karnataka and use it for other purposes than drinking water. There's Mahadayi water dispute tribunal set up by central govt. They continuously regulate the distribution and usage of water. Karnataka demanding excess water of the river which flows to sea which is not being used. It's also proved in tribunal that diversion of water doesn't cause much problem to current flowing. So tribunal has given green signal to build checkdams. Large part of North Karnataka region face huge problem of scarcity of drinking water. There's no other option to solve this problem. These speculations are far away from truth. Hope everyone gets right share of Mahadayi.
