I am curious about the performance of autofocus when utilized in combination with Ronin 4D. These lenses are not on the DJI compatibility list. Is autofocus functional without an external focus motor? How well does the autofocus perform?
Being that the AF of the Ronin4d is not based off the lens AF completely and more dependent on the lidar. It is the same as my 24mm sony G lens. With that said the AF from just the lens has shown more accurate focus than the lidar.
I'm sure they're working hard to make it so, but I don't believe Samyang/Rokinon have confirmed yet that the 20mm or 100mm will adhere to the unified form factor claim in terms of weight. The launch of the 20mm has been pushed back versus their original projection; which may indicate the challenge of keeping its weight down is causing a delay. Maybe you're already aware, since your splash showed only the other lenses. My 4D did not activate the tally light, which I was happy to accept. But the fact yours does gives me hope Samyang or perhaps DJI can make it work as intended. Nirvana will be if Samyang come up with a power zoom which matches the primes' colours even if it has to be heavier.
@@Cineformation_ByTfive I am too, but I can't help wondering to what extent performance aspects are taking a back seat to achieve their goal. I'm not even complaining since uniformity is the big attraction for me, but designing six disparate focal lengths to be the same small size and weight has to require genius or compromise.
In settings when using firmware puck you would put Af in Ac/acc control. Otherwise autofocus will go all over the place.

I am confident the lenses will all be uniform

Did you guy actually buy them?
I did
@@Cineformation_ByTfive Happy with your purchase? I still have not pulled the trigger
@@nyambe yes. Very happy. I am hoping they make a L mount version soon. I will buy the set then too @samyang
