Awesome to see this, I have been wanting to do this when I review replica stuff but I dont have NODs. The IDOGEAR uniforms looked like the colorshifted a little bit but not as.bad as expected. That Emerson chest rig was surprisingly decent and didnt seem to colorshift much if at all.
Spray paint really helps. My helmet was nearly invisible. For some reason my helmet stood out more under gen 1 nvgs though. I have a mesh cover for it now 👍
Is the German shirt well used surplus? I wonder if being washed about 50 or 100 times has anything to do with how well it did? Maybe start washing some of the Amazon gear with your regular laundry will cut down on the "glow"? You said the pants you've had for a while did pretty good, again is it the number of washes?
Agreed, I forgot it was even there at first because I couldn’t see it lol. I wonder if its the material, dyes, or the camo pattern itself. It was the king of blending in at night though.
@@Steven_M. Mine is blemish free other than 1 tiny specs that you have to strain, looking at a white wall, to see. I only see honeycomb when using too much IR light up close. Usually when its auto-gating.

I was surprised the budget stuff did well, also 👍
I buy solid tan nylon gear and spray paint it camo. It really helps break up that glow.

Ive been looking for a video like this FOR SOO LONG!!
I did too, so I just did it myself 😂 glad to help out!
Good info and makes me want to test all my gear to see how/if it glows. Going to see if I may need to help it with dye or paint.
I think its worth testing all the gear I buy now. Im sticking to legit Multicam from here on out for serious use stuff 👍

@@RegularGuy-u2o The pants are real multicam, but being worn helps. Not sure how used the german jacket is. My guess is the dyes used.
That flecktarn is amazing under IR.

What tube do you have? My L3 Unfilmed WP doesn’t look that clear.
Its a gen 3 PVS14 with WP Elbit tubes. 81 Resolution, 37 SNR, and 3005 FOM.
@@poortac5568 Thanks. Definitely better specs than mine @ 72 CR, 33.5SNR, 2412 FOM. Trade ya 😂

All of my Chinese nylon gear reflects ir pretty bad.
most does, especially solid colors. Ive learned Chinese made is fine as long as they use real multicam fabric.
Get your gear dirty. Never wash it. You're welcome.
