- I had seen a post recently on enchanted.rose.costumes Instagram which made me excited to make this dress too! It was an absolute treat to make this dress, it's so nice to actually make a dress I would enjoy in the long run!
For this video, I decided to use an old recycled curtain I had found the week before in a second-hand shop, it was a great surprise to find out that the fabric was a 100% cotton.
In the future I would still make some additional changes to the dress of I would ever remake this one again, The wrap dress on the back is still a tiny bit too long so it does spill out from underneath the skirt.
But all with all I had a great pleasure while working on this!

Materials I used are 100% cotton curtain, 100% cotton bias tape

In 1957 my mother made this dress for herself and drafted a pattern for my 4 yr. old self. She put matching pockets on our matching dresses. The fabric was similar to the stripes on yours. I believe ours were cream with brown stripes. Mother sewed coffee cup on one pocket and a donut on the other. It is the first dress that I remember. Thank you for your video. Love your dress!
Just watching these walkway dress pattern videos. I was 4 in 1957 too! Just ordered the pattern so I’ll see when it arrives. Don’t recall the name, but I saw my mama make this or a similar style for herself. She made many beautiful dresses for me.
There is a childrens version of the Walkway.
Wow awesome to me your is the best one

I LOVE where you attached your pockets!
The music, tea, candle, and talent awash refreshing. Thanku
That’s got to be the best bias binding work I’ve seen on TH-cam. Beautifully done!
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that 😊
Those pockets are the best I've seen on any of these videos! Excellent styling.
Thank you so much 😊✨
Beautiful workmanship. It’s what’s missing in the other Walkaway Dress videos out there.
True great workmanship. But also great choice in fabric. Finding beautiful or decent fabric for apparel wear to sew has become a chore. That's why I don't see any
This one is my favorite of all the ones that I have seen
I do not sew - avoid it like the plague, lol! But this video popped up and because I remember this pattern and my Mother & I having several dresses I had to watch - so happy I did!! The dress, your creating it, the filming/music all combined to make for an enjoyable period of reminiscing- I’m now 67 and wish I could find a seamstress to make me several. Growing up in the military we lived in several European countries in the 50’s-60’s - military rules dictated females must be in dresses/skirts (no pants/shorts) when out in the “civilian population) so I grew up having “quick change day dresses” ready - Feeling the need to recapture that girly feeling and stop wearing yoga pants all the time! I love picking out fabric and making my own ceramic/porcelain buttons though!
Hey there C - I too am 67, and set myself against sewing early in life, though my mother loved it, needed to do it, and was good at it. My feelings about sewing were a resistance to the lot of women then. My mother was not happy being sidelined and put down, and I did not mean to grow up into those shoes. Also, I am clumsy. She died 35 years ago and I miss her more than I ever knew I could. Now I like to sew. I'm rough and ready at it, but it feels good. Give it go! My failure rate is high, I have to admit. I too love fabric, and believe those black tights should be resisted: - bring on colour, patterns, shapes, and individuality!!!!
very pretty I love the fake button detail!
What a relaxin video to watch :) Love the dress, hat and those high top shoes :)
This calmed me down during a season depression esque episode :))) and although I don’t wear dresses this does inspire me for my own creations. Especially that bias tape being on the edges. So pretty!
That was so enjoyable to watch! You made it look so relaxing and effortless. Love the music and photography. The secret pockets are Genius!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it ✨
Very cute and the fit is amazing!!! Best fit of all the walk away dresses I’ve seen so far
The pockets are perfect! Thanks for the tip :)
New Sub....Loved the added pockets!!!🤩🤘
Best weight fabric I’ve seen for this dress. It has body.
I used a old curtain fabric for this
@@celestecostuming6432 excellent!

Thank you so much!
I think you did a fantastic job on the dress. Thank you for sharing your skills.
Very artistic filming and a well finished garment.
Love your dress, it is the first one I have seen 5hat has not had gaping armholes! Fabulous, wonder how you did it. Many thanks for your video, it is beautiful! X x x also your hand stitching- amazing x x x
Nifty pocket placement. Nice dress... looks good on you.
Thank you so much! ☺
This is an absolutely lovely video! I love your fabric selection.
It's very relaxing and inspiring to watch this video! Hope you enjoy your dress fully!
I made several dresses from this pattern. The buttons I changed into snaps or ribbons oder adhesive ribbon.
I am convinced at this pattern.
The Ribbon sounds like such a cute idea for tying it up on the front! Definitely will try that with a new dress
Lovely!

This is awesome im about to attempt this dress, your video was beautifully shot and very helpful! thanks
Thank you! Good luck on the dress, It's a fun project!
its great to see your sewing process, but that music became a bit tedious after a while :)
I have tried this pattern before, think I'd be able to have a better go after seeing this.thank you
I hope your dress turned out beautiful!
I’m still watching but wanted to suggest two things about the videoing:
1) please have your explanations last longer or be just a few words at a time to allow us to read them without having to pause the video.
2) please make the size of the words much larger and a contrasting color to whatever the background is in those frames. Many times half the words were white on white and not readable.
I hope this helps, as I really did want to see what you had to say as well.
thank you so much for watching ✨ and your feedback I will definitely look out for the subtitles and explanations to be readable as well!

Thank you
Wow excellent. Beautiful!
thank you so much!
Very pretty
Thank you!
I am wondering if it would be possible to add a short sleeve? I really don't like sleeveless but this dress does appeal to me.
💙💙💙
❤️
Would have enjoyed it more if you had talked. Sorry I didn’t stay to see how it turned out.
That's ridiculous. Why would you even bother coming back to make a dumb statement then??!
What keeps this from gaping (especially in the side area)? Is it difficult to get the front part on right?
The darts make it three dimensional. But I know a lot of people have problems getting the fit right with this pattern.
theres elastic at the back, with a buttonhole.
You are an amazing seamstress! Or sewist.
pocketzzzzzz
HEMS ALL WRONG
I think one needs to stand on a t able and ha ve someone mark fhe hemline for this pattern. Id also make the inner skirt shorter than the outer one.
