most birds that are "free flying" all end up dying because of it or running away . a harness is just as good and safer. cockatiel can fly 120 km/h if they hit a window they will die
@@myname-mz3lo ok but free flying is their nature, at least they didn't get their wings cut!! idk how people justify cutting off part of their Body for their safety. it all truly depends on your priorities.
The Cockatiel at least is not well enough trained in recall that it should be free-flying, He should be returning a lot faster and responding better to overall cues.. This is ametuer training and putting the birds lives a lot more at risk than if they were properly trained
I lost my cockatiel while he was free flyin..... i loved him he was tamed as hell, bounded to me. But i live in big city and he got scared of pigeons so he flew so high i wasnt able to call him back.... never saw him again. still miss him.

Cockatiels are beautiful and smart birds. They are so cute. I have no bird myself, but I love to see them freefly on vids on youtube. You take a big risk if you let them freefly outside, they can fly away and don't come back again. They have to be well trained before you can take them out to freefly them.

Thank you for this video, Sir. I was finally able to grieve the passing of my cockatiel 20 years ago after watching this. It looked precisely like Kiro. I found my cockatiel, and I shared three beautiful years with it before it passed one day in its cage. My cockatiel and I had an incredible bond, and loved spending time with him. When he passed, I did not feel much and gave him a burial in my backyard. Still, during the pandemic, I got really into the sparrows and began feeding them and caring for them daily (I still do), and little by little, I was able to start seeing cockatiels on videos, and today-thanks to your video-I finally let out the tears of sadness and joy. 😢😊 I never really knew how much I postponed grieving my cockatiel death until recently. Thank you, and God keep blessing you and your bird family 😊
I had baby sparrows and they passed but I feed wild sparrow everyday and they are always there waiting for me and then they go take the food to their baby’s ❤❤
I had raised a cockatiel, when i was still into kindergarten age. She was a few weeks, months old. She lived 22 1/2 years with me, and became my all. She wanted always to be at my side, i let the cage 24/7 open, she only went on her own inside to feed and sleep. She was very handsome, cute as a bird and very affectionate. I was sitting on the bacolny, and she was sitting on my arm, hand or shoulder, never flying away. As kid, teenie later....she was driving onto my RC cars, trains, the vacuum cleaner, and so on...and she always came when i called her, like a dog, and landed on my hand, after a few rounds flying into the room, into the flat. The only bad thing, my cockatiel always wanted to eat, what i eat, which is not good for her stomach, human food of course.
@@Paradisew20 Yes...after 22 1/2 years, many moons ago...she lived a very happy, healthy & free life, always 24/7h the big cage was opened, she was only going inside for eating, sleeping. And all day sitting on top of the cage stand, because it was in front of the window, so she could look "outside". And then growing up with me, from kindergarden age to adult....and driving on all kinds of stuff, like RC cards, skateboard, vacuum cleaner, and having fun with that...into the flat...even sitting on my shoulder onto the balcony sometimes into summer, she never flew away...because she had all she needed...and a lot of TLC.
This is also how pigeons are trained to race. But instead of training all kinds of flying maneuver they train the pigeon to fly to its owner. After that they train it to race with its owner.
