@@MinifigJezyour work taught me how to tidy up the colours on the downtown, apartment buildings and the EV HQ sets but I have a feeling trying to modify the former two would be such a nightmare it’ll make the latter look easy.
@@mattbartels I never bought the downtown or the apartment buildings, but I DID buy the EV HQ on an impulse when I was on holiday (see video about it here: th-cam.com/users/shortsTY4_3hyHM2A) But I've never built it. Perhaps I should look it out and see what needs modifying on the set !
Thanks. I always love how different everyone’s ideas are. We both modded the same set, but in TOTALLY different ways. But like I said… I’m looking forward to seeing what you do on the rest of your baseplate!
These type of videos have been remind me of me and my grandma building legos when I was younger I haven’t built a set a long time she is no longer with us but man building a set will sure bring back some good memories
That’s a cool thing to hear! There’s many small sets to choose from, next time you’re near a toy shop, you should get something and take a nostalgia trip. Thanks for commenting.
Yes, I wasn't that interested in the set, until someone suggested that I modified it. Then once I'd built it and planned the MOD I actually realised what a great set it is. If you do, drop me another comment to let me know how you get on. Thanks for commenting
If you ever need to know what set a vehicle comes from, you just need to look at it's number plate. This ambulance has the number plate JM60330 so that means it's from set 60330 Hospital. You can see it if you pause the video at 5:32 I hope that helps.
I can see why they kept it as a smaller set, as there aren;t many things in teh City range for that price which AREN'T a vehicle of some kind, so it helps with people city building, on a budget. I've just had a look at yours, I liked your thought processes, going thru the dilemmas of where fans and bubbles should be!!! The extra windows in the sides looked good too.
Great mod! I also doubled up this set but didnt upgrade it as much as you did. Also I think that the big tyres do belong on the car because its an off road suv type car and they usually have big tyres.
it’s great to hear how other people modify things differently. I think the car has been made too small then, it needs to be taller to be an SUV, it’s the same size as regular Lego City family cars. That was the reason that I think the wheels need to be smaller. Thanks for commenting.
Your MOD looks awesome, much better than the original! I'm looking forward to when you start to build your city and we can see all the buildings you have modded in it.
Me too !!!! - But boring normal life continues to get in the way of clearing out the junk room and building Lego though!!! We're getting there though (just slowly!)
Yes, that would definitely make it more realistic. This time I was going for ease of modification! So leaving them where they were on the original model saved time and parts!!!!! Great suggestion though, so thanks for commenting.
@@MinifigJez You are right. It is indeed not as simple as I thought. My first thought was just placing the brushes in before the window instead of after and then you need some additional parts.
@@windhoven-nl I’ll add it to my “to do” list… but the list of videos that I need to film is getting very long! (Real life always seems to get in the way of building Lego!!!)
Your builds are wonderful. I am just starting my city and want to incorporate your techniques but I must admit I am clueless on how to properly do a mirror build. Guidance? Cheers
I'll try my best to help! When you start its a bt confusing, but after a while it gets easier, I promise! Basically, follow the instructions step by step, but place items in the opposite positions. For example, if you are making this car wash (instructions link here: www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/product.bi.core.pdf/6466282.pdf) all of book one doesn't need to be mirrored, as the car etc are symmetrical. BUT for book two, when you get to step 13, they tell you to add a 1x2 brick with clip on the left hand side, and a 1x2 brick with a green and red light, on the right hand side. You just do the opposite to teh instructions, so the clip goes on the right and the lights go on the left. effectively, it would look the same as the original, if you were looking at it in a mirror. Does that make sense? If it tells you to put a part in the back left corner of a plate, you put it in the back right corner. Then if a piece needs to be put to the right of the first piece, you put it to the left. Give it a go and see how you get on.
@@MarcMeredithLA I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.... but now which fingers should I use... the left hand ones, or the right hand ones !?!?!?!?! 🤣🤣
Может, стоило бы приделать его к какому нибудь магазину, как показывают в играх. Или сделать помимо мойки какое-то административное здание, где фигурки бы оплачивали мойку.
