Great device to add to any piece of OPE. I typically buy the hour meters that also double as a tachometer. Helps with engine tuning when needed. And they're only a few dollars more.

Depending on your lawn the best height of cut for Bermuda is generally between 1-2 inches! Appreciate you Jose!

I added an hour meter to my mower 7/1/2024. It's an older Toro recycler 20333 (2015). I didn't have a flat surface I liked so I mounted it on the personal pace handle. The cord wasn't long enough so I bought a lamp cord replacement at a big box store. Split it in two. Ran it through existing guides. Worked great. I had watched one of your previous videos last year about doing this.

The other end of the wire wraps around the plug wire... where does that "tag end" go??

The spark plug end of the wire simply gets looped around and zip tied tight. That’s it. It will start picking up the flow of the current from there! 👍

Funny thing about hour meters is they don’t tell you if the routine maintenance was actually done! I use a maintenance journal to track that… the meter enables timely maintenance when combined with the journal.
Or spend $5more and buy the next level with tach and programable alarms to different hours setup
@@cramos7287 Over the years my family has had various garden tractors, zero turns, and other equipment that came from the factory with hour meters… Maintaining logs for them and the automobiles, trucks, motorhome, motorcycles, snow mobiles, etc. required record keeping… it’s a way of life. For some of the equipment the records simply were written on the framing studs in the garage… others in log books.
This is true! Logging the info somewhere is helpful!
I use my watch and a little note book, old fashioned I know.

Great video as always JB, thanks! Can I ask, did you sell your Honda HRN for the Ariens 190 dual blade? I have that Ariens now and it mulchs nicely but gets bogged fairly easily in wet grass. Am planning to replace it for a Honda HRC commercial 21'' while I can still get one. Different price point to be sure but as gas mowers get phased out, I want to have something that I think will last the longest, especially with the a GX series engine. Welcome your thoughts and thanks.

If those are anything like the hour meter on my riding mower I'd have to say that they should somehow hold their reading even if the battery goes flat. My rider is 14 years old and I can't imagine it having its own internal battery that would have lasted that long, especially during the cold winter months. I take the mower's battery out every winter to store it indoors in our utility room and trickle charge it once in a while, yet every spring when I put it back in and fire the mower up the hour meter comes on and shows where I shut it off from the autumn before.

One. I'm surprised you're keeping this dud of a mower. Two I like the hourmeters with tachometers on them. I run them on all my stuff except the chainsaws.
