This is a big part of the reason why English and even Aussie actors/actresses are taking so many roles that are meant for Americans. They are far better trained then your average American drama class student and are also less demanding. An American actress will always demand bigger pay and such, but British or other foreign english speaking actress are more prepared and are willing to initially take less pay to get started.
PubliusAfricanus Absolute rubbish. British actors do such great accents that Americans don't even know they are British until they speak with their normal voice. As the person said American actors are the worst in the English speaking world now, but ask for the most money. So if British actors are better, ask for less money and have more of an international audience . It is no coincidence that the American shows globally are full of British actors.

That is why the most of the top rated shows have British actors playing Americans. British shows don't hire Americans because they are crap and can't do accents outside of America.
