    I can't wait until it's $20,000.oo because I don't want some cheap-ass $13,000.oo bike. 🙄

I’m about to buy this bike in the XT/XTR PRO version. Great review from a fellow Front Range rider.

It's a solid bike for around these parts!

How was this bike 27 lbs when MTB yumyums XTR was under 25lbs ? Someone's got it wrong

Can't speak for the others' vid, just ours. Without pedals, the build that we had weighed 27.2lb. That weight did not change over the course of the month or two we had it around... -Matt

are both scales accurate and calibrated? are they the same size bike? same tires? same amount of sealant? plenty of variables.

      @singletracks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@gabeah Good points. Lots of variables go into complete bike weights.

Had some pretty good time on the trail 429 with Reynolds carbon wheels, Ripley with ibis carbon wheels and the new Tallboy 4 with reserve. Tallboy all day long! That bike is amazing!

Sold my Tallboy 4 for the Trail 429…then I’ll get jealous of when the new Ripley comes out. TB4 is sick downhill though.

Do you still have the Trail 429? I have a TB4 and thinking of trading it for a 429.

@@davids6652 snappier and more capable. Get the SB115 if you want the fastest one in the trail bike group.

Got a used 2020 Trail 429 and love out of seat climbing like my road bike days. And followed my friend on his Enduro through steep rooty downhill with drops. It can handle everything I ride at speeds faster than my previous all mountain bike.

Agree with gearing effect on pedaling. Shift up one of two gears and climb forward with more speed and support.

how high is the step over frame?

Pivot tends to have some of the lowest standover heights. Depending on the size, the Trail 429 standover ranges from 63.6cm (XS) to 69.6 cm (XL).

Superboost 157 was such a stupid move for Pivot, Devinci and Evil. This looks like a great bike but I have a great wheelset and I’m not interested in changing it. Throw in the premium price and this is a pass for me. It seems a lot of these boutique brands in their quest to be “leaders” jumped the shark on SB157. If you buy and sell fully built bikes I guess it doesn’t matter, but if you build and work on your own, it’s a deal breaker.

I just got the Trail 429 and realize that I’ll probably be buying another Trail 429 or Switchblade as a backup / second bike. A pricey path, but they are that good. I love the nimble and playful character of this bike. Rock gardens suddenly have so many lines to be chosen and improvised. I’ve never been this fast or had so much endurance.

I've been looking at doing a premium wheel build for a new Pivot and none of the top hub brands do 157.

@@trentvlak build yourself a set! Super rewarding, and really could build a set in about 3 hours on a day when the trails are closed/muddy.

@@trentvlak wheels take me about an hour each if I have the parts on hand. That's not fast though - wheel builders can get it done in under 30 minutes.
      I can't build hubs though ;)
