  • 2020 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro vs 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro review by The Straight Pipes. The 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro has a 4L V6 with 270hp and 278lb-ft tq. The Toyota Sequoia has a 5.7L V8 pumping out 381hp and 401lb-ft tq. At $62,120 CAD and $78,950 CAD, which one would you pick? Would you take either over their competition? Also, this was filmed before the Coronavirus was a thing and Jakub and Yuri do not have the Coronavirus and they are still alive and well.

      The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily

      Toyota is the worse polluter.
      "Hamilton cites last year’s EPA report on emissions and fuel economy trends which concluded that from 2012 through 2017, the five years in which the combined EPA Greenhouse Gas Emissions and NHTSA CAFE regulations have been in place, “Of these thirteen manufacturers [Honda, Mazda, Hyundai, Subaru, Kia, Nissan Mitsubishi, VW, BMW, Toyota, Mercedes, Ford, GM, FCA] all except for Toyota improved CO2 emissions and fuel economy.”...Hamilton explains how this happened:
      Their pick-up trucks are less efficient than most of their competitors and they are far behind the industry leaders when it comes to electrification - their plug-in Prius can go a mere 25 miles on a charge before turning over to the admittedly efficient gasoline engine, and they offer a low-volume fuel cell vehicle only in California. They aren’t currently selling any other EVs across the US.

Longer than the manufacture of 5 Mercedes. Car manufacturing pollutes the air more than a few mpg does. Sounds like the Toyota is the least polluter to me..🤷🏻‍♂️

    @rangerover06sc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Another interesting thing about the Sequoia is that you can drive around on dry pavement in "4H" without damaging the 4wd system. That's because it's got a torsen center limited slip differential, like a Land Cruiser. That's why there is a button to lock the center diff. It's pretty cool because unlike the other full sized suvs in this class that have 4 auto modes, it has a full time awd setting. So normally torque is split 50/50%, where the rest are like 10/90% rear

      @@Darksyne all luxury brands drop very fast in value.
      Lexus loses it value just like any other luxury vehicle. So I wouldn't believe the wive's tale about Lexus holding their value. Residual values are set by the banks and the food chain of auction and dealerships just play along to make as much money as they can out the consumers.
      Edmunds long term test of the Lexus GS loosing over 1/3 of it's value from MSRP.
      "Resale and Depreciation:
      We accumulated 20,940 miles on our 2013 Lexus GS 350. Edmunds' TMV® Calculator valued the vehicle at $47,431 based on a private-party sale. The market did not seem to support this price, as CarMax offered us $40,000 and the best we could muster from a private partywas $41,000. This made for 30-percent depreciation from our paid price of $58,377. We were disappointed

      Norm T so you’re agreeing with my point on higher ranked luxury cars by biased review organizations may not be the best cars to own? This is why I’m making the point on the 4Runner being a great SUV. The only reason it ranks lower is because it’s using a decade old drive train so of course newer cars will ride better...

    I have a 2003 4Runner with 370,000kms and a 2013 Sequoia with 220,000kms. 4.7ltr V8 and 5.7ltr V8 respectively. Love em both. When we head to the cottage we always take the Sequoia. Bigger, smoother ride and more comfortable seats. Most reliable vehicles I have ever owned and also easy to work on. The quality of fasteners and the attention to detail is so far ahead of the competition, that there really is no competition.

    I was in love with the 4Runner until I talked with a friend who owns one. He said he loves my Durango Hemi, which surprised me. V8 power just can't be overlooked. Being able to merge on a metro area highway or overtake on the highway is something you miss with a V6. I got like 15 years out of my Durango, so I'm all about reliability - which is why I'm going Toyota next. Since 4runner will never have a V8- it's Sequoia for me all the way.

I end up paying $51276 for GX premium sport design package with standard third row. V8 baby. I tested 4Runner and that V6 wasn’t doing it for me.

      Sherm T if you wanted a lot of space you could’ve went for a 2019 sequoia trd sport which you could’ve gotten for also 50k or 45k brand new... I got one on August 2019 when they had the end of the year sales event and I got a trd sport for $45k with 3miles after we test drove it... and it’s really comfortable... 7 seats, fits 3 adults in the 3rd row no problem... you can sit all 7 adults without any issues pretty much but Lexus IS still a nice pick tho🤟🏽🔥
