Watching this video has brought me such joy tonight! Everything you said! Hasta la receta! Casi lo mismo de mi bisabuela. Simple ingredients, but bold flavors. I could already smell your kitchen! Ha! Thank you for bringing back all those wonderful memories I had growing up! Aye y más importante de todo, thank you for reminding me about the cumino girl! That's what i was missing!! Haha!!! Well that, and the cooking time, más o menos, for a smaller olla. Lol Merry Christmas! 🫶
I always bought my masa at Pila’s Molino in San Antonio TX but we have since moved to TN and there isn’t any place here that has fresh masa! So thank you so much for sharing how to make it from scratch. I’m going to give it a try this year.
I love how you split up the recipe. I was asking myself today if that were possible today because I’ve never made them. Thank you for all of your wise tips (: my meat is cooked and I’m about to make my sauce
You made it seem so simple to make but I know an amateur like me will probably screw it up but your direction are right on. Thank you so much it was a pleasure watching you. God Bless💯
I made my 1st few dozens of Tamales thanks to you. You made it look so easy. I was scared I wasn't going to learn but you helped make the process easy and to the point. Thank you so much for helping me check off one thing of learning to make off my bucket list.
I love your videos! They’re great and easy to follow. Do you have a good recipe for Mexican hot chocolate? Not atole…just some good ol’ cinnamon Mexican hot chocolate. Let me know or make a video on that next! Just a suggestion. 😊
❤Laura you’re the best cook! I love all your videos they uplift me and motivate me to do them . I love your tamale recipe and I have followed your recipe for the past couple years and my family has enjoyed the tamales thoroughly these are like the ones my Grandma used to make . Thank you for always taking the time to make your videos . I really used to like to watch your Dollar tree hauls too. God bless you and your family Happy Holidays ❤ your friend Lorraine Lopez from CA
Thank you so much for all your tamale videos! I was always so intimated to make tamales but I followed your first video and now I make them every year. A few questions that have come up - if you are only steaming a small batch of tamales, do you still use the big pot or would you use a smaller one? Does the cook time change at all? Thanks in advance!
Hi Miss nice to watch Tamales demo , just asking , i dont think i can find Maseca or corn dry leaves here in the Philippines , may i ask if a Banana leaves can be a good alternative to Maseca ?
Hello Renee, The tenderloin could get a bit dry. But can be used, make sure to add more both while cooking with the red sauce. Thank you for watching. Happy holidays.
Many people who make tamales when they're preparing the masa they do the water test. They put a ball of masa into a glass of cold water and if it floats then the masa is ready. I never do this and I noticed you didn't either. My masa comes out perfectly.

Where do you get your good corn husk? How much are they?
Thank you so much for all your tamale videos! I was always so intimated to make tamales but I followed your first video and now I make them every year. A few questions that have come up - if you are only steaming a small batch of tamales, do you still use the big pot or would you use a smaller one? Does the cook time change at all? Hello, thanks for watching. I would use a smaller pot if you have it. I would still cook them the full time.
Hi Miss nice to watch Tamales demo , just asking , i dont think i can find Maseca or corn dry leaves here in the Philippines , may i ask if a Banana leaves can be a good alternative to Maseca ?
For the Maseca use corn flour and for the leaves, yes you can use banana leaves.
Hi could I use butter in stead of lard.
How many pounds of fresh masa did you use for this recipe? I really liked this video! Tamales look Delicious!
I used 5 pounds. Thank you fro watching.
Thank you for your video my question I sent my husband to the store he bought pork tenderloin meat will this be moist ?
Hello Renee, The tenderloin could get a bit dry. But can be used, make sure to add more both while cooking with the red sauce. Thank you for watching. Happy holidays.
Where did you get your little ceramic dish you have your salt?
Many people who make tamales when they're preparing the masa they do the water test. They put a ball of masa into a glass of cold water and if it floats then the masa is ready. I never do this and I noticed you didn't either. My masa comes out perfectly.
If I put some masa in fridge because I needed to continue the next day. Do I need to heat the masa again.?
How often do you add water to the pot? The one time I made them, they were scorched on the bottom!
I usually never add water, I never need to. But if you need it add it. Maybe the fire is too high? Try lowering the heat.
How long will masa last in fridge?
If they are frozen how long do you steam them for?
The same amount of time. Because you start counting once the water boils. I hope that helps.
What if when you soak the corn husks in the warm water add some melted butter 🧈?
In my opinion, I don't think the dough will stick properly.
My mom always would make them small and the same amount of meat as you ..

Why doesn't my tamal slide off easily?... Sticks on the husk ? 😟
Do you sell these? 😎
hello of
Where's the recipe?
If you’re good you can pay attention and make them but she is selling her recipe on Etsy, if you want to purchase it. 😅
The meat is too mushy. 😕
