📌 Hey everyone! This is our first podcast episode, and it's a new format for the channel. I usually publish one video a week on Mondays, but I want to know what you think about the podcast format. The Feed was basically SL trying to do FB/Instagram, but people didn't really adopt or embrace it. Part of that is on LL not communicating with people on what it was all about, and people that didn't want this sort of interaction. It's kind of funny, though, because there was a third party avatar website that was basically doing a similar FB/social media thing, though it was also open to Opensimulator grid avatars, along with other virtual worlds, like IMVU and various other places that have come and gone.
I am trying to use it now, just to see how I feel about it. What are your thoughts about it though? Keep it, loose it, or update it? Actually I will do a poll 🤣
@@secondlifespectrum - I don't really use it, and the way it's setup is not really all that usable. It's like with Flickr, which is probably one of the most used and loved websites by SL users, yet you have to dig deep in the viewer to find it, if it's even there. Otherwise, you have to go with a TPV that has the option. But the Feed is supposed to be LL's social media interaction integrated into SL, and it gets the third party treatment of being there, but you have to find it and set it up first. If it was integrated better, the feed might get used more, but that depends. Some people just want to keep SL in SL, and prefer things private. Others may embrace it. Yet, I doubt it will have much effect with FB. It could have back when FB wanted to ensure real people were using FB, but now they seem to embrace SL avatars, and are fine with SL groups. So that opportunity to be an avatar alternative to FB has come and gone. People also use Discord and Mastadon for groups, so the pitch for even keeping the Feed is not in good shape at the moment. Not unless the Feed can do something these other groups can't.
I specifically list in my picks i prefer to interact with people who have payment info on file, i didn’t use to be this way but after dealing with to many crazy alts it’s something i always look for
I feel my profile always sucks. There needs to be profile writing guidelines, because each time I write it never feels right to me and i always keep changing it and being poked by my friends about it or people get confused about me. 😂
I enjoyed this helped get through the workday I prefer voice it’s quicker for me than chat. I love the idea of sitting at a coffee shop and organizing gonna try that. I wish they would update the feed with a more insta like format. Or maybe they can integrate instagram or facebook so when you post there it goes to the feed. I love reading profiles i roll a joint and look at the ppl on my ejected list or nearby 😂 I just wish everyone would add something to theirs for nosey ppl like me. SL is what you make it I treat it like a game where I’m playing character someone IM me one day telling me “you don’t sell drugs fr stop the cap” sir you’re right I have a desk job in RL and this is a game calm down 🤭😂 📝Update my 1st life tab 📝Shorten 2nd life tab 📝ADD WISHLIST 🤗 Thank you for including me 🌸🥹
I've been working on my wishlist, except I mostly wish for expensive because obviously I don't buy them ... I think I would prefer if Second Life does not use 3rd party and keep it all SL but improved, just because - as usual- not everybody wants to be on FB, Insta or X. It would be more relevant if it stays on SL, but defo with an Instagram feels would be great.

For the duck thing, "if it looks like a duck, acts like a duck, it's a duck" I think they were basically saying they see everything as is.

They need to go the IMVU route and let us have taglines and profile status'
