I lived there for 6 years. Wanted to retire there. But it was very isolated. I just could not justify the isolation. 90 Miles to the airport; 50 miles to Trader Joe's or Costco.... Great friends there and gorgeous rocks! If you own a home and land, it's best to be handy. Reliable handymen were not easy to find. Healthcare is not great. Most people have doctors in Phoenix for anything serious.
Some people have said they feel less isolated in the retirement communities. But I also know Cottonwood doesn't have all the medical specialists some people need. A lot of people have doctors in Flagstaff or Phoenix.
Great wealth of information! I especially appreciate that you bring up the pros as well as the cons. Very fair and honest. Thank you
Thank you
It’s great

So being 50 miles from a Trader Joe’s or Costco in considered “very isolated”? Clown world lol
