I watch these all the way through too because like all goalies we're sado-masochists lol I enjoy the chirps bud. Only thing I can say about the blocker is keep hands forward, attacking the puck especially in close. Plays the angle percentages. I suck blocker side too so good fuckin luck hahaha Look forward to the next vids
I'm in a few goalie groups on FB. I've been a goalie since 1970 and my education is in psych and social work. I wrote these thoughts in response to a coach working with his bantam goalie, this still applies to adults. I've seen you get hurt in other videos too and this might be a trend you want to eliminate. Thought you might get something out of it, even if it's a laugh. I'm sure all goalies go through some form of thought processes, bad and good, in response being hurt: Freeze-up/flinching happens in reaction to an internal (thought) expectation. For myself, I would call the condition "gun shy". Even if you tracking the puck off a stick, a gun shy goalie will still react. They might flinch or they might simply tense up. Either way, the objective is to eliminate the fearful reaction. One needs to reacquire confidence and see the reality of playing the position. Regaining confidence doesn't "just happen", it takes conscious effort and a plan with goals in mind. Of course, you need to check your gear first. Is it damaged? Does it fit right? Are there area's that could provide better protection? Can I afford more protective/better gear? LOL Here are some examples of reality-based/positive thoughts/psych based goalie mindset: I am a goalie and there will be injuries, I am a goalie and my gear is high tech and designed to protect me, I know how to fit my gear to my body. Some shots will hurt, I am a goalie and can overcome the pain of injury, I will heal. Add your own.
Thank you for this! I go through stages. Weeks at a time where I feel invincible, never scared of the puck. But it takes one shot in a certain spot to relapse me and get me back in my own ways of being scared of shots. I can’t help it man. Idk how I feel these pucks. 3-4 times it just catches me and knocks the wind out of me when it shouldn’t. Very weird and I don’t know how!
It wasn’t a blocker issue, it was an angle issue, you were too far left giving him the open spot to snipe. The one timer over the blocker (beauty shot) was a poor save selection. You didn’t have to do a butterfly slide, there was minimal angle to score, and you didn’t need to travel far, a normal shuffle across would’ve put you in the right spot.
To help with your blocker, keep you hands out. Your blocker is way to close to your body. Also try shadowing the puck more, because it seems you are late on your stands. I can see that you are kind of lowering your body on the blocker side, kind of dropping your shoulder. Try keep your shoulders and hands leveled. Good Job! Keep up the hardwork!
In my last game I was bending myself in half trying to cover a loose puck in the crease & a rookie ref didn't get his ass out of the corner & over to in back of the net until after an opposing player jabbed it in. If he'd been behind the net quicker he might have seen my glove over the goddamn puck!
Unless the shots are coming from a really sharp angle your chest protector should be protecting you besides any rockets launched at you. Is there anyway you could tighten your chest protector at all? I’ve had chest protectors I’ve tried out where there’s a big gap between the shoulder floater and the belly pad, and you just catch pucks there all day. Go on sideline swap and look for something lightly used!
Nah this helps big time. This video was uploaded a while back, I’ve fixed my blocker slightly since. Stepping and leaning into those blockers saves do help! So thank you 🔥🫡
Bro yeah was coming to say this... Either need a new chesty or a bigger one if you're catching them on the sides of the ribs... I've never had a chest shot take the wind out before. Don't want ya to get hurt buddy
What part of Chicago are you in I’m pretty much live the same life as you except I’m a woman lmao I even play goalie for a local men’s league team portillos is a nightly thing I hear in a pay video that your from Chicago so I was just curious
That’s awesome! I was born and raised in southern Illinois near St. Louis. Family all from the south side of Chicago tho. Now I live in New Jersey near Philly
GG! 2k views? How long until you come out with a merch line? I think I'd get a jersey to wear for shinny. oH, and get a new chestie... you should never have those stingers
What a comeback of a game!

Thanks man! Yeah it starts with the angles. I’ve noticed that. We will work on it 🫡
That’s the issue with a short bench… the boys get gassed in the 3rd and your legs stop responding to your brain 😂
More like the first period for me… 💀
The refs shoudlnt be complaining about you. You're just passionate.
Chest, Helmet and Gloves are three things that I never go for something other than NHL pro stock.
I honestly might change up the gear. It’s honestly never happened before like that. Maybe I just had it on wrong lol
Glad to see your grind paying off! Keep it up
I appreciate it! LFG
this CrawDaddySaves should be signed to a NHL
I’ll take an emergency goalie slot all day 😂
devils need a goalie....badly.
Huge Debut for the new ref!!! Also lets fix the blocker issue next time.
W mans Bryce 🔥🫡

100000% correct. Thanks!

Ohhhh I’ve been there man. Poor refs are trying their best 😂
Man, what chesty do you have? And is it tucked or not? Those rib shots hurt to even watch!
I think it was tucked or super loose. That usually never happens!
good shtuff
Thank you! 🫡
Hands pushed forwards
Say less 🫡
I got rock and still didn’t get scared
Must be nice lol
I don’t know, me personally I think it wasn’t a blocker issue I think it was an angle issue on those two
Yeah my angles are so bad it’s frustrating lmao
@@CrawDaddySaves dude same!!! I feel like im all over it and then I turn around and I’m damn near in the corner lol

It did seem like it was from the same guy both times though. He had a ripper!
I actually tighten my chesty and it helped big time!!! I didn’t even realize that was the issue 🔥🤟🏼
What I'm seeing blocker side, you're not stepping into the shot the same way you do glove side. Not sure if that will help, but it's what I saw.
Nah this helps big time. This video was uploaded a while back, I’ve fixed my blocker slightly since. Stepping and leaning into those blockers saves do help! So thank you 🔥🫡
Imagine playing goalie and being scared to make a save
Okay David 😂
my dude, you need a new chestie BAD. you should not be getting KO'd after every body shot
Bro yeah was coming to say this... Either need a new chesty or a bigger one if you're catching them on the sides of the ribs... I've never had a chest shot take the wind out before. Don't want ya to get hurt buddy
Right? Was thinking the same thing, those pucks shouldn't be doing that type of damage.
Yeah idk why that happened. I can’t remember the last time it’s happened, let alone twice! Might of just had it on wrong or something
@@CrawDaddySaves you learned that lesson the hard way I guess 🤣
@CrawDaddySaves what chestie are you rocking with?

Dude a merch store would be elite! 🔥 I have that for my CrawDaddyPlays streams. Might have to do that for this as well!
