Thanks for the follow-up! Your videos have solved a linguistic puzzle. A lot of early medieval Welsh horses had names indicating a cloven hoof. Now that I see how untreated white line disease and some other problems can split the hoof, this may account for it.
My congratulations for this very special orthopaedic horseshoeing! The edge of the hoof (above/where the fur ends) could regularly get laurel oil for better growing of the horn.

Can really see that it will grow back if not normally at least functionally. I was a bit worried that the crack up the side would have broken the coronet band, but he seems to have gotten away with it. Well done ronato!
Beautiful work! The horse is going to be much more comfortable with your help. I like your comment (I’m paraphrasing): aesthetics are not so important as comfort. That’s something more people need to think about when owning horses. The horse should come first!
