Y'all need to stop criticizing this group of musicians, this is a pretty difficult piece being performed by most likely people that aren't professional at their instruments, and even still it sounds at least decent, most of their tone quality is great, and its probably better than the people bashing them could do.
Agree. I actually have been in a very good marching band for over 8 years now, and I must say that this certainly wasn't a bad performance! This goes to show that sometimes it's better to have a small group of really good musicians than to have a really big one with only bad musicians
As far as I know, this song is pretty difficult to play. For Hibike! fans, we should know better than anyone that this song is hard. I honestly feel that this is a job well done, considering that most of the people here are probably amateurs. Also, just imagine having to practice only at your free time after work or school. They are not the people that can devote their 100% into this. I see a lot of comments bashing the trumpet solo. I don't mind if you tried trumpet, and you know what the guy is missing on. For me though, the solo sounds really harsh especially at the jump. Trumpet is not a typical instrument. It only has 3 keys to control the notes, and jumps between octaves are made purely through blowing strength. I'm not saying that a constructive criticism would be bad, but simply saying that they are shit or the solo is shit doesn't make sense. Being a solo is not just about being awesome. It is mostly stressful. If you can't get it right on the concert day, it feels like you could die anytime soon. So, unless you can really tell how to be better at it, don't just bash these passionate people.
for what I assume to be amateurs (or some kind of in-between of professionals and amateurs) I really enjoyed this interpretation, and the camaraderie that surrounded it in a bunch of cosplayers sitting down, practicing/learning this music and presenting it to like-minded and like-interested people. The solo could have been a lot more expressive, and there were some tuning issues, but otherwise a very nice performance. Nicely done!
This performance was very epic 👌🏼 Crescent moon dance is actually a really hard piece if you think about it. I’m sure they put all of their effort into it and I hear so much potential. So ppl have no right to criticize smh. I’ve been playing horn for a few years now and honestly rlly it’s the effort that matters, not the mistakes that they make.
i play the trumpet, f horn and flute, and let me say, there were many mistakes, but u can tell they tried their very hardest, and that’s amazing! while the trumpet solo wasn’t perfect, he gave his best, and that’s very admirable, don’t give up! mistakes are what make us great musicians! mistakes are what make us want to work even harder!
I love this solo its so good I am so happy you did this they were mistakes in it but every band has it also btw I play the flute😁 Also nice trumpet solo
can yall stop bashing on the solo we get it it couldve been better but put yourselves up on that stage, playing an incredibly difficult piece before you start being asses to someone else
Ok here are my comments: 1) Woodwinds - Coming from a clarinet player, those runs were fairly decent. Especially given the assumed skill level of the band in comparison to the skill level of this piece, which should be a 5. I think the staccato and accents should’ve been a little more exaggerated while maintaining tone but it was still fairly good. Some of the high notes were off but that’s to be expected with how high they actually go, sometimes even in the 4th octave. The releases were also not together, which was a shame considering how well the attacks generally were. 2) Brass - The dynamic contrast is something to be worked on but every note was clear and had decent dark tone so props. And the trombones, tubas, euphoniums, and basses killed that counter melody run which was notable. Not great but definitely not terrible overall. 3) Percussion - Would’ve liked to hear more of every part as it was frankly lost in the sound of the ensemble. The tempo and pulse got a bit ragged at times but way to keep the tempo of the band semi-constant. Also couldn’t hear chimes at all which was a shame considering the big role they play in this piece. 4) The Trumpet Solo - Definitely missed a few notes, and some high notes were off mist likely due to the range but nice recovery. Would’ve wanted the forte piano(fp) to be exaggerated as well as accents but played acceptably well considering difficulty and range. Some releases were mistimed and the recurring eighth note triplets and 16ths failed to be at a consistent tempo. Lip slurs are very difficult, especially with how high the solo goes so I won’t discredit the player for that. However the lack of dynamic contrasts was regrettably disappointing and it made the solo lack the depth it needed. 5) Whole Ensemble - Overall as a whole ensemble, this was not great but it was credible. It is rather impressive considering the difficulty of the piece. It could’ve used a lot of work, but I understand that they may not have had the time to do so. The main thing I would work on first in this ensemble is to stay together and have a group sound rather than individuals playing parts. Pulse, tempo, attacks and releases, and emphasized articulations should help this a decent amount. Could be very well done after a bit more work on this piece. // A side note to everyone in the comment section: All criticism isn’t bad. In fact, most criticism is with good intent, telling them what they need to work on and how to improve. I’m obviously not advocating for negativity but some remarks on a performance is something to see in a positive regard rather than a negative one. And obviously what I have written above is my comments on this performance. Take it as you will. I’m excited to see this group improve in the near future.
musescore.com/user/75149/scores/1043236 This is the best I could find. They don't print it and it was given out for something, but I'm not really sure what.
- tak the soloist did just fine. In the anime, her audition was way better than the actual performance, in how she phrased and some unnecessary breaths she took that she didn't take in her audition. I wouldn't expect these kids to sound like the professionals they used to record the anime. Gotta cut these kids some slack! Don't worry though, because I totally get where you're coming from. This seemed more like something for the kids to enjoy lol
i'm not even associated with any kind of music, i'm in an art club, but i can hear things are already just not good. the start went off smoothly but then it just flunked from then on, not to mention the solo made me cringe. practice harder, and maybe it wouldn't sound so sloppy and out of place.
Obviously. Someone who's "associated with music" would know that this piece is extremely hard, and that if you're comparing it to the professional recording in the anime, it's never gonna measure up. "Practice harder-" Shitty thing to say... They're obviously well practiced, and the solo is not bad. Trust me, for an amateur band, it's pretty stellar. I was expecting it to be much worse than it was
At least not as crappy as your profile pic, but if you're going to say something about it, then please do your research before making a statement like this one. You would'nt tell a car dealership how they should sell their cars if you don't know anything about it, would you?

I see you love Japanese animation ,so 1st, the title should be"日本動漫夜" ,2nd, trumpet solo part should watch "Sound ! Euphonum" another 100 times!!
. . . why the title should be like that?
this is not weaboo things...
The conductor is dressed in a bunny suit, conducting a piece written for an anime. This is the weebiest thing on TH-cam.
