You open a window to a world I would never otherwise experience...your adventures are bursting with a spirit of adventure. I have some health issues that prevent me from doing such awesome stuff so being given the opportunity to follow your treks into the wilderness is truly uplifting ❤️😊💛
@Traveler's Tale it's good you have an avalanche beacon, but keep in mind, rescuers need to be within 300 feet or less from your position. If they can't find your possible position to begin with, they might never get within beacon receiving range.
I love it! I miss getting snow 5 feet 8 feet overnight dumping!! Growing up in maine, that was a weekly occurrence! Me and the neighborhood kids, we had massive snow forts!!
You sleeping in that hole with snow all around you, was the craziest thing I have ever seen anyone do. If one part of that snow wall had fallen (especially after the fire heat) you would have been buried alive, not to mention the snow coming in all night long. Please be careful. Also put a red flag up so if anyone came by they would know you were there and would not fall in.
Fully agree with you. Very stupid thing to do really. Your own safety should be of paramount importance, moreso being on your own. Also your camp stove was too close to your fire. Think it out before you do things please. Take care
The fire actually strengthens it. It lets the innermost layer melt, and as it homogenizes with the bitter cold temperatures above, it results in a progressively thicker layer of ice.
You're like a magical creature; so talented narrating, filming, building.... but how do you not freeze doing all of this in the snow?? I absolutely love your content- Netflix needs to give you a show🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Snow is a really good insulator and even without the fire, he would have been pretty warm. I haven't stayed in this deep of snow, but it is pretty warm even in a shelter with a foot of snow.
EPIC CONTENT MAN! Just found your channel subbed and ill be watching more! Just from this video i see a guy that loves nature and adventure. I think we would get along great! If your ever in idaho give me a holler! Its sad to see how many people have no idea about bush craft skills and servival shelter builds. We have really lost touch with our roots and what it used to take to servive. If the world goes to shit, its men like him and me that will thrive while others wonder when grocery stores will have food again or when the power will come back on. We are so used to every thing being provided. I personally prefer to live outdoors and am working on putting things in place so i can do just that. That being said get out doors and build your primitive skills. You may never need them but they may save your life one day. Its like having car insurance you may never need it but one day youll be glad you do!
Great job doing something I hadn't seen yet. Digging out and sleeping under the snow pack. It made me claustrophobic as hell a couple scenes, like when you just finished and hit bottom and look around and it's 4 straight walls going up 7 or 8 feet. Looked like a snowy grave!. But you have a great attitude which I really enjoy so I pressed on. Then, I wondered if someone could by passing by up top and just fall in! If you do this again maybe put up a flag or pole or something? Anyways, keep up the great work on all your adventures.
Really enjoyed this, along with the talking. I was a bit concerned, but couldn't stop watching! (I've never been in snow) A unique take from other bushcraft camping videos.
Then watch a lot of TH-cam channels like yours and just discovered you. This is a great video and you are fun to listen too so this grandma is now subscribed and a fan. Would love to know what part of the country you live in and where these are filmed at , And it is a dream I have to be able to go out and do this, Well maybe not digging a cave but going to difficult places in a van like yours is a dream come true for me. Yes yes I have a Honda element which I can't fit all the time and absolutely love. The blessed sweetheart pray God watches over you and keep your real safe and make them videos for us to enjoy. Thank you
Absolutely love your videos! I have a passion for nature similar to you and some of the drone shots with the snow, trees and mountains are breathtaking! Fantastic work 👏👏 I personally prefer your solo adventures more, seems more calming and authentic. Can’t wait to see where else your journey takes you ❤ Stay safe!
Yes. I was so worried about that too. Last summer 2 teenagers did the same thing with sand near the water. It was not as deep as yours. They did not light a fire but it was not that far from the water. I think the waves might have caused vibrations which caused the collapse . Many people including their parents immediately tried to dig them out. It was not in time. They both suffocated and died. Please, please be careful. The new IPhone has the capability of using satellite for emergency phone calls. If not for yourself, do it for your parents.
If I have understood your location right it looks like PCT hikers will have less drinking water problems on this year. They will have a lot of river crossing issues instead. It is interesting to see how much there can be snow on winter time.
It’s just my son and I really enjoy your videos, would really enjoy doing this sometime, you might think about a dog companion, I’ve been watching for sometime hang in there and have faith..
My wife was 4'11" and went winter camping in deep snow much taller than her! She used snowshoes... just as you can! Get some training, proper equipment and give it a try! You don't have to start out in such deep snows until after you get some experience and confidence!
It took several thousand years for the snow to get that deep, based on ice core measurements. And you just dug through it in 3 minutes. Let me know if you find any WWII aircraft down there.
Wow!! I know you are cute. But now I am thinking you are crazy!! Just kidding, You are so brave. I have never seen anything like this on TH-cam. Have fun but stay warm and safe. Greetings From San Diego.🌴And I will say, there is no snow here.😪
Hello! I'd be afraid that snow would fall-in on me and bury me! I'm watching you at lunchtime and I just had a 2-egg and cheese sandwich myself. I hate avocado's but my husband loves them and eats them quite often. Okay. Serious question? Did you not collapse that hole you dug? What if an animal falls in it? They wouldn't be able to get out, even assuming they didn't break anything when they fell in, and would die! Please tell me you collapsed the hole even if you didn't show yourself doing so!
You open a window to a world I would never otherwise experience...your adventures are bursting with a spirit of adventure. I have some health issues that prevent me from doing such awesome stuff so being given the opportunity to follow your treks into the wilderness is truly uplifting ❤️😊💛
Your videos are soooo excellent. You kinda become mesmerised, especially with your voice and happy demeanour! Love from the UK.
Thank you so much!
Very cool! Or more accurately, COLD! Your cinematography is quite good.
I would be so scared alone in those circumstances. I assumed you have an emergency radio and all that good stuff. Great video, but stay safe!
I have an avalanche beacon too
@Traveler's Tale it's good you have an avalanche beacon, but keep in mind, rescuers need to be within 300 feet or less from your position. If they can't find your possible position to begin with, they might never get within beacon receiving range.
The fact that you purposefully do this for fun is just wow 😮😅
That is froogin’ nuts!
NOPE NOPE and NOPE lol!
I was literally holding my breath watching you crawl out at the end, hoping you got out of that hole okay! 🙏🏻
Yaaaaaaaaas....... been waiting patiently 😃...... watching now xxxx

I agree with you! Hopefully this is his first and last time. Extremely unsafe. Praise God he made it out alive.
The fire actually strengthens it. It lets the innermost layer melt, and as it homogenizes with the bitter cold temperatures above, it results in a progressively thicker layer of ice.
It’s a quinzee and is very safe when built right. Have seen multiple camping TH-camrs use it as a shelter in the snow.
@@sulimanb1833 well it must be safe then, you saw some other rando on TH-cam do it🙄 There’s a whole lot of us Alaskans who disagree

You are amazing , just take precautions ok but love your adventures 👍😍
Thank you, I will
Brilliant video as always, thank you
Thanks again!
I always wanted to build a snow cave and sleep in it. Thanks for sharing this so I won't have to freeze my butt off trying this experiment.👍
Very well put together and produced video. Thanks for taking me away for a short while.
Good for you kiddo! You're doing great! Have fun & stay safe!
Love ♥️ your videos , Take care of yourself & stay safe ,.

I liked the part with snow
That's incredible how u made a little igloo so far under the snow. Keep warm and safe. 💜
This is the definition of "living life." God bless you, brother. I wish i could be doing this.

Cool vid man.
That’s exactly what I was thinking 🤔 Tacos.
It's dangerous too! Be safe!
This was an awesome video!! I wouldn’t even think to dig down and sleep in a snow cave!!
What about building an igloo? Wouldn’t that be a little safer? I love your videos btw!

Please be very careful making those very deep snow caves to sleep in I think you would be better off making an above ground igloo type thing.
Be careful in that snow if that snow collapses you be buried alive please don’t do that again ❤

Awesome video, be safe
Watching your videos from South Africa where temperatures are usually around 25-30°C during this time of the year 🤣. Love your work mate!
3:26 Reminds me of when I dug myself into a deep hole in Minecraft. I hit Hell and unleashed the demons and died.
🤣😂
Actually love watching these videos keep them coming!
I’ve never seen snow like this, hopefully I get to experience this as well! Your adventures are so inspiring ✨
I"M SECOND! nice vid
Love the content keep it coming you got real fans out here 👍🏽
I love your van bro, its so cozy and comfy ❤️
for survival or getting caught in a storm do you have to dig that deep to keep warm? Or did you just want to see how deep the snow was?
Did you fill the hole back in or just leave it ??
Love your “new” channel and your vids! I’m 5’1” and never would’ve made it through that snow! 😂

I do but no one watches 😂
You can build a home under the snow...💖

When i heard his voice in the intro i tought it was the guy from The outdoor boys For a second 😂 damn u got me well
New to your channel! I'm so jealous. We never get snow. I have to live though you lol
Wow nice 👌❤️
Great video, thanks for sharing. That is alot of snow, never have seen anything like that, we may get 10-15 inches for an entire winter.
Please stay safe, I know youre sensible but rogue accidents happy.
I get happy when we get 1 inch of snow in Nashville lol
Keep the good work my dude ❤🎉
I would be nervous that the walls would collapse. Not my kind of camping.
Probably the 40 foot camper type huh? If your gonna bring the whole house with ya why not just stay home?
@@Downtoadventure25 not at all. Grew up tent camping. I love the winter and the cold. Your sarcasm was uncalled for.
How long does it take to dig in igloo like that?
About three hours if you dig fast
What if a yeti wanders along in accidentally falls in there with you?
I suggest investing in an Insta360 for fast and light filming :)

If that deep hole you dug caves in, no one will ever find you until all that snow melts. But I assume you have considered that?
