Agent Venom definitely can do better than Iron Fist. But he is very dependent on his 5th skill. If your damage proc is not timed right, he can do really poorly.
Haris Khan seriously both are equally good in all modes.. agent venom should be slightly more useful as a hero for shadowlands, certain world boss and pvp.. carnage takes 2 slots in extreme alliance battle.. it's up to you on which modes you need to improve

My max on Iron Fist was 219k
So he's better than IF, good to know. And thank God his 5th skill doesn't get interrupt in the middle like Odin's 5th skill without IGB obelisk
There is 5s invincibility on his 5 skill which prevents guard breaks
