This music has so much hidden within it. It is fantastic! I really wish more people would view music as something that does not have to conform to what their idea of music is.

Webern's music was complex notation for its time but there is very little of it. Doesn't mean that it doesn't have value. This music is exquisitely gentle and very different.

Beautiful textures, wonderful journey. I just can't get where 'clavecin' really is.

Extreme restraint. This piece makes me feel so repressed. I love it.

Does anybody know where can I find a recorded performance of his "LINKE HAND EINES APOSTELS"?

It seems that there is no recording, unfortunately-the piece seems very intriguing.

The score like Ferneyhough, Finnissy, Burtwhistle,Jonathan Harvey and many others is a beautiful thing to look at in itself but the Emperor is wearing no clothes, my dear! All that scribbling and there is no sound ,no dense activity. University music. don't ya just love it?

couldn't have said it better myself.

Kevin, the sounds that ANY music lover would and should be looking for - aurally meaningful patterns of pitch relationships - do not appear here. Pitchwise all junk like this has no meaning. That is precisely why it is worthless. What John meant by "emperor's clothes" is that anyone who THINKS he hears something in this garbage is simply fooling himself.

jaspernatchez Nothing more repulsively destitute than somebody who claims to be able to know the breadth and depth of the aesthetic/emotional experiences of others. If I put my face up close enough to my computer monitor I'm pretty sure I can actually smell your insides rotting.

Kevin, while I'd be honored if you made the bit up about smelling insides for me, I'm fairly sure that you use this prefab phrase to express displeasure in webchat, and you are so very proud of it! What's more, I'd guess you didn't even make it up - that you read it somewhere and "appropriated" it. In any case, you are apparently confused. Nowhere did I claim to know the aesthetic experiences of others. I claim to know exactly what the ferney and similar trash are capable of and what not, regardless of what clothes someone may think he sees on the emperor. This is very different from your perception, but the difference is apparently beyond you, as are many things, I'm sure. You'd better keep your nose out of trouble by holding it as close to your monitor as possible.

Kevin Laba oh geez, now it all makes sense. I've been to your website, Kev. I've listened to a few minutes of some of the noises that you so euphemistically refer to as "acoustic concert music". Now it's very apparent why you so desperately want to discourage anyone from seeing that ferney has no clothes on. You don't even have skin! AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
