Amazing view, nice road and marvelous movie... Congrats! I'm wandering what time of the year the trip was done... I'm asking because I'll try to repeat it at the end of April. I hope the weather will be nice that time?
It was April 2018, yes that's the perfect time April/May/June as weather is usually +20°C mostly stabile and dry, not too warm or cold, specially for coastal areas. July and August are busy as it's touristic season and winter can be cold even snow in continental parts. Thanks, cheers 👍
Oi!
From a motorcyclist's point of view, how safely do people drive their cars in Croatia in general? Do they keep to the speed limits? Do they wait to overtake in places where it's safe? What about distances between vehicles? Do they tailgate? Thanks and BR
In general, Croatians lack of driving culture compared to western world, because of configuration of roads often they're speeding double or tripple what speed limit is, they are drinking and driving (not all of course) and they would overtake where is forbidden. Is that confidence or lack of awareness or both who knows but on average for 4mil people country Croatia has pretty high rate of deaths on roads. Recently authorities introduce huge (huge up to 10k €) fines and speed cams forcing things to get better and it's getting but still if you'll drive in Cro keep speed decent so you can react on time if needed. And one more thing in Croatia since climate is good, a lot of animals are crossing the road if you see sign saying animals, pay attention on that section. Don't get me wrong it's not extremely bad, but things are still far from how it's in western world. I even mention this on video from [2:55] th-cam.com/video/TTpW08pg66E/w-d-xo.html hope this helps, in Bosnia and Montenegro is the same if not worse 👍
To be honest, Croatia is fairly expensive country. Gasoline is around €1.48 per liter, B&B's €50+ per night, of course you can find cheaper but depends a lot on location, beer is around €3. Pizza or pasta in restaurants around €6-7, minced meat is specialty ranges around €10 per person. National parks range from €7 to €30 per person like Plitvice Lakes. Coastal areas are more expensive than continental ones. Groceries like all over the europe etc. If you're on budget I'd advise find camping there's plenty and fairly cheap and buy daily stuff in grocery stores like Lidl, Konzum, Kaufland. Hope it helps 😁 if any specific questions just ask. Cheers
Top spots to visit in Dubrovnik area if you're with or even without the bike. Guys, let me know if you'll have any questions, happy to help out!
