History is clouded by time past. Both these and other Roman figures are subjected to those who wrote the history. Owning many books on Caligula and Elagabalus, the letters of Pliny the Younger, Histories of Tacitus and the writings of Pliny the Older bias cannot be so easily discounted of salacious gossip.
