Glad I found this channel. One of the best reviewers out there. Instead of talking about the colors and placement, you actually get in depth with everything. Keep doing your thing man.
Can confirm this review was spot on. Shoes have held up great and the leather has gotten better with age.
@GLYDE8 - I know what nubuck is... I meant they are two different types of material, as in two different forms of leather. Nubuck, full grain and suede are all leathers yet they are all different materials. Even though they may come from the same source, one cannot call nubuck and full grain leather the same material. These leathers can me manufactured from other animals as well such as pigs although cow hide is most widely used.
@GG604 - Ive worn mine a few times now and they dont crease up too bad. The leather is soft so when wearing its looks good, and when not being worn you can just put a shoe tree to keep it nice.
@dakrazey1 - Materials and elephant print is slightly different. Box is different... these are newer so no cracking and paint chipping and yellowing too lol.
@ldq23 - Just spoke with Nike, the products are synthetic. Their site said otherwise which I pointed out to them. The Nike site also states the AJ6 has a phylon midsole, when in fact its a polyeurathane midsole... take it for what it is. Next time maybe you can prove what ever it is you claim.
@urielortiz95 - The last 3s to release are in Nov. for the Black/ Cements.

@demonmonterz - Dont know, you would have to call your stores and check to see how many pairs they are getting and what the call volume has been like on the shoes.
@ldq23 - Im not assuming, its a fact. Nike doesnt use real leathers anymore for PETAs sake or something like that... really its to cut costs. Synthetic leather are a blend of real and fake leathers, this is why there are so many 'grades' of synthetics... just like there are lots of different types of real leathers. The leather used on these are premium synthetics just like the MS 6 & six rings.

@TheLazyABC - I dont know where you purcahsed from but its very possible you have just experienced getting a bad pair... something Im very familiar with.
@Lemke68 - Ive been saying they should come with a retro box rather than some stupid card for years. They finally listened lol. These though, im happy with 100%.
@Marci02333 - Not anymore but back in '88 they were one of the better hoop shoes on the market.
@nujrz4lyfe - just on the most recent retros like the varsity and infrared 6s, ftlotg 7s and all those... They have just started using the glossy leather which is better material than the AJ9 leather but still not as nice as the OGs.
@salvix4life - Its too soon to tell, but I did give away my 03 cements bc I had kept those in the box for a lil over a yr and when I went to pull them out they were heavily yellowed on the midsole and heel tab. I will say that the box lining and the paper in the 03s are prob what caused it to yellow up. The new paper is white and seems as if it may help with yellowing over time but Im not 100% on that since the paper is still new at this point.
@GLYDE8 - Are they really changing the description of the shoe this many times?
@ldq23 - Its all good man. I dont want to argue with anyone but I know what I know. If you say that you called Nike and they told you one thing then thats cool. Its not an opinion though. This is why Nike has made flywire and fuse tech.... its all synthetic materials such as plastic and rubbers. Its cheaper than real leather to manufacture. But Nike hasnt used real leather for years, on any shoe.

I know this video is old, but at 4:00 when you said it's the same stuff they've been using for years it's actually not. They're using a new paint since the spizikes in 09 which are suppose to keep them from cracking.

I remember buying these in 2003. The quality can not be compared. the leather on the tongue of these looks cheap. The fire reds I got a year ago, about 2 months of wear, the elephant print on the front tore open. This never happened on my 2003 cements. Which I still have. Fuck Jordan downgrading the material.
Thanks for the great review. I just seen this and for once own a pair of these 11 years later lol. But I just have a question about these. Do these Jordan 3 have widows peaks? Mine do at the toe just above the Elephant print and a little further up on the top of the toe. It's on both shoes. I noticed you said yours had some imperfections but not big enough to mention. Just wondering if this automatically makes mine fake? Everything else looks on just the widows peaks have me buggin. What do you think?

@bulletz4life Which one did you get? The universal, or the AF1 trees? They look pretty much the same, so it's difficult to decide which one to go with.

@chabes12 - Yeah they do what they want when they want to, they know we will buy it anyways. Im not saying you want to argue, Im just tired of talking about it if you know what I mean. Its my thoughts and opinions on the product thus this being my review so to those who want to say the materials are great and genuine then that it perfectly fine with me. No hate or dissrespect at all, everyone has their own thoughts and I appreciate that.
@chabes12 - It is crappy leather when comparing them to OG or early retro models. The products that come from Taiwan have very nice material while a lot of the stuff that comes from the China factories have leather that isnt as great. I dont want to argue with anyone on geniune leather or synthetic as you may think what you wish on that subject, Nike will tell you whatever it is youd like to hear.
@GLYDE8 - Nike's site has posted mistakes like this before. Nubuck and Leather are two different materials. I think they are talking about the elephant print in the statement which is similar to or may be nubuck. Myself and many others are sure the leather used are synthetics. Others think otherwise. If it is in fact full grain leather, its the cheapest full grain leather one can find. Take it for what it is.
@dboyheat - Almost all brands use synthetics now. It is what it is you know... The quality can be compaired to fakes on certain releases but others, such as these AJ3s, are really nice leather and I personally really like it a lot. This is why flywire and whatnot is being made, theyre plastics and cheaper than leather. They just so happen to have figured out how to make it useful performance wise.

ALL leather used now are synthetics. There are premium synthetics and there are crappy synthetics. The MS used premium synthetics... but its still not 100% leather. A synthetic leather is a blend between reall and fake leathers. The amount of real leather blended with the fake determines the leather grade... MS had a higher amount of real leather within the synthetic blend making them a premium synthetic.
@devomoney - I personally dont like the orion 7s. Im not a huge fan of 7s in general though... only own one pair and only plan on getting one more and thats it. But you should strictly purchase what YOU like. Dont worry about anything or anyone else and what they think. Being a Sneakerhead is about getting what you think is fresh. Stay up bro!
@angelnegro281 - I try to stay away from that type of question... I dont want to tell you to get a certain sz and you end up fitting too small or too large in them. If you have any other Jordans then go with that sz otherwise Id say your best bet is to just be safe and get a 10.5
@hinijoser - Its a hit or miss as usual. The pair I bought from the finishline store are awesome and I like the leather better than the white/ cements. The pair I ordered from finishlines online store were pretty crappy and was not happy with them.
@perrslice - They used to use real leather. Each release would have a new type used with it like the AJ2 using italian leather and even the XX1 using italian suede. Now they used reall leather once in a while and hike up the retail price on it.
@pmags1331 - Im sure theyll sell out but you need to call your local spots and see how much activity each release brings. Theyll usually tell you there is a high volume of calls coming in about a shoe if you ask.
@MisterBinx - Yeah man, nothing compares to the older models so we just have to deal with it I suppose... things wont change unless ppl stop buying the shoes but we know that will never happen.

@StephanoRW - No, they were sent to me as a chirstmas gift actually. I could have gotten another pair on RD though since they took a little over a month to sell out in my area.
@clicheskate88 - Not really... they dont even feel good walking around but they look good lol. This is basically tech from the 80s so theyre not really 'modern' tech for playing ball.
@hinijoser - They look to be the same quality as these and the TB 3s. I have only seen the IV samples so until I see the final product I dont have much of an opinion.
@Jonathansernel1 - I wouldnt use polish, but theyre prob cleanable. All restoration questions should be sent to restoremysneakers... they know how to fix a sneaker up.
@KR3AM100 - Im not sure. It looks like its been pressed into the material and the black lines look like paint, but I could be wrong. It doesnt seem lasered though.
@Jonathansernel1 - Only way I know how is to put some tape down over the logo... but then if you ever try and remove the tape the logo may come off with it.
@LatinoHeatttt - They should be a GR, but dont let the GR label fool you. All the XIs have been GRs so you never know whats gonna happen.
@omd0 - I will say that I like the leather more than what they went with on the 9s but its still not the best leather available.

@Aerseus - Usually the shoe wont crack if it hasnt been worn. It can crumble if kept in high humidity areas though. Try and store them in a cool climate and place a silica pack in the box, I put mine under the paper, to help prevent too much moisture from ruining the shoe. Thats pretty much all I know. Restoremysneakers may have better advice.
@GoldndSilver - Nice price! Bummer about the box and everything but at least you got the kicks.
@Jonathansernel1 - Could be a number of reasons but there are only two that I can think of. 1) They want to preserve the OG insole of the shoe as well as keep the Jumpman logo in tact. 2) They prefer to wear an insole that provides them with specific needs like arch support or a specific type of cushion.

@muerci - lmao... yes its one of those irenew bands from some infomercial... founnd it at the as seen on tv store and wanted to give it a try. Dont think it does anything really, its rubber and some metal lol.
@ShaneOso - No one was complaining about the release, I love my pair and think theyre fantastic for what they are. Even said I thought it was a good release in the vid. They retro kicks for money, plain and simple... name one shoe that was not a retro or signature #1-23 that had sold out from the brand... there wasnt one. They do it for money not for us, its a business.
@lftr2 - Yes. These are Jordans, the AJF3 is a fushion/ mixture between these and the AF1. Design on the uppers are slightly different and the midsole and outsole on the AJF3 are from the AF1.
@Marci02333 - Nowadays ppl really only use retro models for casual use.
@mcuuvb86 - I had noticed some differences between these and the silver 3s as well. It wasnt anything major but was noticable. I would prefer the leather on this pair over the silver though. I feel the silver release was very stiff and cardboard feeling. I think they look longer bc of the cement grey on the elephant print since when I match my soles up theyre the same length.
@ShaneOso - Gotcha. I understand your side of it. I feel 1/2 and 1/2 on the situation. They dont have to retro them, but if they are they should be decent quality when there is a price increase... even if the price is the same, quiality should be on point. Im loving these retros for the most part. Allows me to get the ones I never could before. I just get irritated when I get a crappy pair and its been happening a lot lately.
@20evan10 - True Blues drop June, Stealth drop Sept I think and the Black Cement Oct if Im not mistaken. If you hit up Deftronic he could give you the dates for sure...
