  • FINAL bout of the Fifth fencing event of the 2022 to 2023 Season - 2023 Cairo Men's Foil Fencing Team World Cup - Between Italy イタリア and Japan 日本.
    On the Left - Italy
    Italy is the reigning 2022 World Champion as well as 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018 World Champions. As of the previous season, Stefano Cerioni returned to be the head coach of Team Italy. Italy won Gold at the previous competition - Paris World Cup. Surprisingly, Alessio FOCONI was not picked to fence in the team event of this competition, and Bianchi was not picked to fence in his place. Filippo Macchi won his first Senior Medal at the previous competition - Silver at the 2023 Turin Grand Prix. Davide FILIPPI won his first Senior Medal (Bronze) in the individual competition a day beforehand. While at this moment, it is still likely for Foconi to be selected for the Tokyo Olympics, this switch to Macchi may endanger Bianchi's spot instead.
    On the Right - Japan
    Since Russia has been banned from competing, Japan has been making the semifinals of events more often - most often losing both bouts to come forth. Since the end of the previous season, Reigning Junior World Champion and 2022 Senior Belgrade Grand Prix Bronze Medalist, IIMURA Kazuki has replaced SAITO Toshiya for most team events. SUZUMURA Kenta is also now in the top 4 again. Since after the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, French foil legend (including defeating Japan and winning Gold at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics) Erwan Le Pechoux has become the Head Coach of the Men's Foil Programme for Team Japan. He coached Iimura to win the Junior World Championships and Bronze at the 2022 Belgrade Grand Prix, and Matsuyama to win his first World Cup earlier this season in Bonn
    Previous Match-ups:
    Italy had famously defeated Japan at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Since then, Italy has defeated Japan every time for many seasons. However, at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, Japan upset Italy in the Quarterfinals. Earlier this season, Japan defeated Italy in the Semifinals of the 2022 Tokyo World Cup

    Thank you for watching! This one took forever to make (fixes below), any support would be appreciated
    I now have "Super thanks" and "Channel Membership" enabled too Don't feel pressured to pay though, but it would make future videos easier Just think of it as paying for a cup of coffee for actually edited fencing footage (DISCLAIMER: Do not buy the "Dancing Tuna's Sussy Bakas" level membership. I added it as a joke, and it has to be reviewed by YT again for me to remove it so yah )
    FIXES:
    - Aspect ratio and camera movement Fixed (every action)
    - Replays added
    - Video to sound delay fixed

    Thanks for sifting through the atrocious raw video to make and post this! This Japanese team with this lineup could be a force.

    This was a beautiful edit. Shikine went super saiyan for real.

      Thank you
      Yah it seemed like he made Garozzo afraid to engage him in the 4m and when Garozzo tried to retreat off the line instead, Shikine was able to deal with that too. But I think Garozzo was too quick in changing his strat to go back to fighting Shikine in the 4m again, as long as Garozzo uses more of his side of the piste to make Shikine stops his march, he should have a better chance of scoring because traditionally Shikine has a harder time breaking Garozzo's march

    • @Ascalis1
      @Ascalis1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dancingtuna I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that. Garozzo generally has a devastating march and is known for just relentlessly walking people down the strip but once Shikine had it figured out it looks like he got a bit too cautious and let Shikine take over too often. Once Shikine noticed that he was being given free reign to attack is when he just went crazy.
