nah. it's stupid. just like stringking's bs. have fun lining up all those holes perfectly when drilling. i'd just use one screw in the back like every other freaking stick. head rattle is not an actual problem, just stick some athletic tape under the throat. we figured this out back in 1990 for goodness sakes.
Is it worth it buying a defensive head for a close d? Or do you think that the offensive heads are just as good? What head would you recommend for close d?
I do. Defensive players put their sticks through different levels of stress than offensive players. Yes, riding attackmen, and two-way middies throw checks at times throughout a game, but close defenders, and short-stick d-mids throw checks ALL GAME LONG. A stiffer head will not only be more effective for checking, it will also last longer, and not warp from the continued beating.
As a defender and now the manager of a lacrosse store, I hate seeing companies split their heads, mainly because defensive heads as a whole suck. Honestly if its not a Mark 2D or a Havok, im not pushing it, too wide too heavy terrible bottom rail. I don't know how warrior can keep getting away with making gear when it seems so far below the comp.
Thanks for chiming in! Always good to hear other opinions. To Be fair though, the XP2 D is lighter than the Havok, and has a narrower face-shape than the Mark 2D. I'm currently holding all three right now to get an idea of what you mean by "terrible bottom rail", and I can't really see any issues.
Great review. The XP2 is a great head. It shoots really well and is easy to string.
Would be interesting to see what the difference is between the Evo and Burn XPO
2nd screw holes! Genius!

130 is absurd. Warrior keeps acting like they make premier things.
I really like these heads, but I agree with you that $130 is quite a bit.
