yeah because most pop artists nowadays don't care for concept albums and just release albums that feel like compilations of what they hope will become hits
i wouldn't say it's a "lost art" but it's just that most mainstream artists don't care about songs with nice flow since they mostly sell singles and not an entire album anymore
For me, music and rhythm are always ahead of vocals (thank you Mark Bell), since I don't understand the meaning of the lyrics by ear, so the first three albums sound harmonious. After that, everything turned into experiments.
i agree. Bjork does not yet seem to realise the loss of connection by abandonning regular "square" beats for "triangular" and "circular" music. there is a reason why pattern recognition is appealing/comforting to the human senses. in her defense, she has been becoming more "experimental" but perhaps not merely to experiment or deconstruct, rather to give a form to something that is essentially formless - emotion, sensations, loss, pain etc. now that she is on the mend, i do hope we get back some rhythm and beats, if not that at least, a more balanced integration of both, circular and square compositions.
@@hilmir i never thought of it that way. I never knew how to put it, the way bjorks new music doesn't hit as well as this album or vespertine. "Square beats " ... Thank you for bringing me a new understanding
To be honest, it's just Unravel fading out while Bachelorette is fading in. It's not a piece of composition who start from Unravel and lead to Bachelorette.
The way this entire album flows is transcendent
Transitioning and flowing seamlessly from one song to the next is becoming a lost art.

beyoncé literally just made a whole album doing just that

You are going to love Portals by Melanie Martinez, it's full of transitions and outros, making a full story!!
there really isn't ever gonna be another like björk
nor like you too :)
I feel like Aurora is Bjork for a new generation. Homogenic is a masterpiece though.
@@adammason6823 Mhh not really. I mean, it's cool but it's like calling Grimes the Bjork of a new generation. Bjork stands alone.
what about your mother???
I hope not. Variety is good
the way it transitions from a calm song to a more intense one is incredible
Pluto to AIFOL what a great explanation that how Björk work so hard!
This should have billions of views… not for popularity but to wake people minds… love this.
Wake what for? Heavy depressed maze of mind. Wake for: Glory to God ! HalleluJah. Thanks Jesus!
5 years and inmature have a very cool transition too :)
We don’t deserve Bjork, but I’m glad we have her.
Don't speak for everyone, I deserve her! Whatever is in our lives, we deserve, especially if it is Bjork 😍
I am unraveled, FULLY
I literally get chills every time I hear this transition. absolutely incredible
Bjork is not just a single song Bjork is a world 🌎❤️
Imagine how many minds have been formed by the pacing of the album back then - now reflected in the serpentine paths of their lifes...

Don't see that. Since the 4th (Selmasongs) and 5th (Vespertine) are the most melodic for me.
A master inspirational
Love it
De mis favoritas

...done
I wish they produced the video with her album cover image animated or something. Different artistic direction for the music video. Sigh.

Seriously, but where is this transition?
