I was there in Vegas. These girls fought hard for the win. Michigan was a real test but they fought to the end. I think the first challenge is an eye opener to the season and I think they are going to grow from here. The gamecock fight was definitely there last night.
I'm a gamecocks fan, we won it all last season, this season it's gonna be a little more tougher, but once they get going, they will be ok, they do have 2 6'4 players, it's going to have to be lots of transition basketball..they play UCLA on the road, probably going to be their first loss.. hopefully not..
This will probably be the worst game SC play this year, this is what great teams do, play bad and still find a way to win, shout out to Kitts, she showed up and showed out.
I must agree with you. Their shots was just off and the effort was very lackluster. They had a terrible night and still won. This is going to be a good season for women's basketball . There are a lot of good teams.
exactly. defense wasn’t a problem it was the offense that struggled. that can be fixed overnight and they will come out completely different on Sunday.
Thanks for posting the Game. All the TEAMS that played against REAL TEAMS struggled in their first Regular season game. Michigan didn't get one vote in the AP poll and got 1 vote in the Coaches poll. So it's pretty hard to know where the supposed experts think they really are. Just watching the first couple of minutes, they might be better then advertised.
Life without a dominant center going to be hard for the South Carolina woman getting caught this year they going to find out just how hard it is without a dominant post player
@KelzKelz we never won a championship without a dominant big I don't know where you get your misinformation from we never won a championship with dominant post you can't even name a year that they South Carolina won a championship without a dominant center and if you think South Carolina is better without kamila c you are delusion almost lost to Michigan team that even have no stars on it
@@Henry-i7c the 1st championship, Aja wasn't a big like that she played 4, like Kitts. You don't need a dominant big to win it all. Just some big enoughs to use up some fouls and make it hard on other bigs. Regardless every year hard just because we loss 3 games in 3 years don't mean it was easy.
Hey look. Fams, it should be no wonder to any of us that a team lead by a God honoring coach, with many God-honoring young ladies on the team would be sorely tempted to lose a game being played in Sin City. If they had lost, they could say that "The devil made them do it"! Smile Fams! Moan and groan you Gamecock haters but remember, almost losing counts as a win!
too bad our coach is an idiot...I watched the highlights of the game and was impressed as I thought we would get blown off the court. But then watching the full game even losing by 6 points, it's the same problem year after year. Having a 5 guard offense when your players are not athletic enough to get away with it on the defensive end. I'm actually happy we lost, because if we were to win this game and then possibly pull an early top 25 ranking, it would only be squandered away by bad coaching as every other year. Kampschroeder played 23 minutes and only 3 points, while Macy Brown a quality guard offers more athleticism, more physical, tougher, better ball handling skills, and better decision making. Kampschroeder plays like she's scared of contact, that's not Wolverine sports. Everyone hustles for loose balls, not afraid to bang and fight for rebounds, and she's hanging around scared to engage. And yet Barnes is starting her over far better players. Barnes brought Macy in for a split second, then she spent the rest of the game on the bench. Crockett, who is also a better overall player, never touched the court. Even when the freshmen were clearly exhausted, Barnes just kept them in the game for long stretches. She claims that the 5 guard offense is how the league has evolved, but not the Big10 every team in the Big10 or even ranked teams, have a post player/post presence. When she brought in Grabovskaia, the interior defense had a major difference in SC's penetration. But instead of starting her, she has Jordan Hobbs defending low post players. This gets her into foul trouble, it also extends a lot of energy trying to defend bigger players...I mean this is fundamental shit!!! Barnes is sabotaging this program and I hate that Swords and Olson will have to endure disappointment. Phelia decided to transfer, Evans transferred, Woodson also transferred. I wouldn't be surprised if the team is below 500 midseason, those 2 decide to enter the transfer portal. Barnes need to be fired immediately...
because she was freaking tired and may have realized it's wiser to be more out on the perimeter. She's naturally a Caitlin Clark type of build, where her shooting is more important than being highly aggressive in the low post. and Barnes is such a boneheaded coach, she doesn't make adjustments. Olson was struggling the entire game, making freshman mistakes, and Barnes just kept her in the game. Meanwhile, you have players on the bench like Crockett and Brown who could've easily came into the game and spelled Olson to calm her down a bit. She was subbing Kampschroeder in for Swords and Olson, a senior guard who played 23 minutes and only 3 points. She's not athletic, not a defensive stopper, not all that great of a shooter, and she is afraid to actually engage physically. Why did she start? Oh I don't know because Barnes thinks it's smart to have a bunch of guards instead of a low post player. If you start a low post player such as the russian chic, instead of Kampshcroeder starting, you move her to the bench, and spell Swords at the SG position. But if you start both of them, who will give her a rest? Well, her boneheaded sub system shifts positions around with substitutions. Meaning, you have a SG being spelled by a SF or PF in the dumb 5 guard system she runs. To run that system, you better have sharpshooters all over the floor and speed. They don't, so this is why the offense looks so ugly and gritty, because they're playing out of position. Meaning they have to play much harder on defense and even offense. This is will be a depressing season, despite almost upsetting SC. If you look at our conference, we have UCLA USC and Oregon all joining the conference. Along with the typical tough nose teams. Michigan is gonna struggle, and that's just the facts.
lol . Dawn always keep a couple starters to come off the bench especially the last few years . That one of her recipes for her success. You should know that by now especially SC fans 😂
@bernardriggs2079 naw fam this is different. Let one of the other guards come off the bench. Lay is the only one that can create her own shot. This is why they keep getting off to slow starts. Just like in the championship game. Like I said Dawn trippin for not starting Milaysia. She is a generational talent. Dawn's words.
@@thedivinekingllc.7327 lol . I don’t disagree with , I’m just stating what I’ve seen Dawn do since the freshies entered the program . Dawn like the luxury of having high speed game changers come off the bench . Besides Dawn give minutes to the hot hand
If you support South Carolina you know the hate is going to be extra loud so could you please do your best to not be confused with a hater. The girls outside of 3 point shooting and shot selection really aint play that bad. Michigan out side of Swords really ain't play that good either. Im getting out the comments, i already can't take the hate.
They are so overrated. They have no inside presence, rim protection and only one shooter. Theit rebounding has always been a key and they’re now angurad centric team that can’t shoot. They are vulnerable.
Sometimes players have bad games but rather you win by large margin are you win by one point the lady gamecocks get the W and Michigan took a L so gamecocks fails stop complaining!!!!

I’m calling Kitts BIG BODY all season💪🏾
Great game
It’s time to start Johnson!!! What does she have to do? Transfer?
