Hi Jenny, It depends what brand of paint you are using, but think of fire red like the red on a fire truck. Very red, not much magenta in it. I hope this helps. Have fun painting! ~Michelle

We love the purple as others have stated and the white in the background trees really gives the illusion of distance. This is another winner, Michelle!!

As always, I love your paintings. Each and every one is so beautiful. I'm having trouble with my large size brush, it doesn't cover like yours or look like yours. I'm using a 1/2" flat bristle, but the bristle look more tight or something. Please help. :) Thank you!
Hi Sheila, you can buy the same brushes that I use here at my shop: berkshirepaintandsip.squarespace.com/shop I use a wide variety. I don't know what you are using and brushes can be made from various hairs, hog, camel, ect.
So beautiful and peaceful. Michelle, do you prime your canvas with gesso and do you wet your canvas before painting? I never see dry edges when you paint. I'm SOOOOO glad I found you 'cause I love watching and painting with you!
Hi, I buy my canvasses pre-primed, so there's no need to Gesso them for adhesion purposes, but I could use gesso to smooth out the surface, but I don't. No, I don't pre-wet the canvas either. I've always had trouble painting trees. I painted two along with you they look ok. I know practice will be required. It's funny that something that I love would be hard for me to paint😌
Trees can be tricky to make them look natural. I give you a few easy to follow tips in this video, so you should do just fine. Just remember to have fun painting. Take Care, Michelle

Funny you should mention Amazing Race, my hubby and I recently started watching that series, starting at the first season. Another beautiful painting Michelle. My husband steers a towboat, the ones that push the coal barges, for a living, he said the “stern” is the back of the boat and the “bow” the the front. And then of course you have “port” and “starboard” side also.
